Potter was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Springfield, Minn., to Wayne and Jessie Specht Potter. He married Deloris Marie Mertz in Springfield, Minn., on Jan. 25, 1942. He lived in Springfield, Minn., and Lebanon before moving to this area three years ago. He served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II. He attended Hamline University Hamline University was founded in 1854 in Red Wing, Minnesota, USA, as the first institution of higher education in the state. in St. Paul St. Paul as a missionary he fearlessly confronts the “perils of waters, of robbers, in the city, in the wilderness.” [N.T.: II Cor. 11:26] See : Bravery , Minn., for one year. He worked as a used car sales manager. He enjoyed golf, hunting, baseball, basketball, football and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Elks and American Legion American Legion, national association of male and female war veterans, founded (1919) in Paris. Membership is open to veterans of World Wars I and II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. . Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Patricia Weiss of Clifton, Va., Barbara Psachos of Tukwila, Wash., Susan Potter and Catherine Gaylord, both of Atlanta, Debra Cato of Federal Way, Wash., and Martha Linder of Columbus, Ohio; three sons, Richard of Fairfax Station, Va., William of Eugene and Michael of Columbus; a sister, Lois Woodall of Blue Earth, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grand- children. Marie Sawrey VENETA - Marie Manile Sawrey, 92, of Veneta, died July 27 of Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia. . She was 92. She was born May 19, 1910, in Los Angeles to Peter and Mary McGowan Manile, and graduated from high school in Los Angeles. She lived in the California towns of Arcadia and Long Beach until 1971, when she moved to Port Townsend, Wash. She had lived in the Elmira-Veneta area for 18 years. She married Howard Lenning in Riverside, Calif., on Aug. 31, 1946. He died on Feb. 24, 1966. She married Rhea rhea, in zoology rhea (rē`ə), common name for a South American bird of the family Rheidae, which is related to the ostrich. Weighing from 44 to 55 lb (20–25 kg) and standing up to 60 in. Sawrey on July 3, 1968. He died Oct. 16, 1983. She was one of the first usherettes at talking movie theaters, her first job. She was also a runway fashion model, professional horseback show rider and insurance executive. Sawrey enjoyed bridge, reading, boating and spending time with her family. She traveled around the world. Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Foster of Elmira; and three grandchildren. A sister, Loretta Wheeler, and a grandson, Brant brant or brant goose, common name for a species of wild sea goose. The American brant, Branta bernicla, breeds in the Arctic and winters along the Atlantic coast. Foster, died previously. No service is planned. Lela Shove The graveside service will be today, July 29, for Lela Rosaline Rosaline (IPA: 'ɹɑzəlɪn [and] 'ɹɑzəlīn) is an unseen character and niece of Lord Capulet in William Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet (1597). Shove of Eugene, who died July 23 at the age of 82. Her family chose not to list the cause of death. Shove was born March 2, 1920, in Salem to George and Melba McAllister Guerne. She married Ralph Shove in Olympia on July 3, 1943. She was an avid gardener, and she enjoyed ocean fishing, camping and hunting. Shove lived in Connecticut until 1947, when she returned to Oregon. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary of Poulsbo, Wash., and Mark of Eugene; and a sister, Geneva Geneva, canton and city, Switzerland Geneva (jənē`və), Fr. Genève, canton (1990 pop. 373,019), 109 sq mi (282 sq km), SW Switzerland, surrounding the southwest tip of the Lake of Geneva. Riley of Salem.
