Magdalan Howard

JUNCTION CITY Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley,  - A memorial service will be held Oct. 25 for Magdalan E. "Maggie" Howard of Junction City, who died Oct. 17 of cancer. She was 89.

Howard was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Harrisburg to Robert and Mary Zimmer Stroda. She grew up in Harrisburg, where she graduated from high school.

She married Kyle Howard on Nov. 3, 1933. He died Oct. 27, 1992.

Howard was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. Her interests included fishing, camping, searching for arrowheads, traveling and gardening. She enjoyed making dolls for her grandchildren and for the Scandinavian Festival.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Harrisburg and belonged to St. Helen St.Helen may refer to:

 Catholic Church in Junction City.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Skirvin of Junction City; a brother, George "Doc" Stroda of Harrisburg; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friday's service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church. Private Inurnment will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Helen Catholic Church or to Hospice of Sacred Heart The Sacred Heart is a religious devotion to Jesus' physical heart as the representation of the divine love for humanity

This devotion is predominantly used in the Roman Catholic Church and also used in the Anglican Church.

William Gent

MONROE - The funeral will be held Oct. 22 for William Joseph "Joe" Gent of Monroe, who died Oct. 16 at the age of 74. His family chose not to list the cause of death.

Gent was born July 5, 1928, in Harrisburg to Ed and Geraldine Gent. He married Estrella "Esther" Munar in Subic Bay, Philippines, on Feb. 5, 1956.

He was an avid gardener, and he enjoyed challenges such as raising hard-to-grow vegetables and getting the earliest tomatoes. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dan and Leo Leo, in astronomy

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene. Tuesday's service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Willamette National Cemetery Willamette National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery in Clackamas County, Oregon, about 10 miles southeast of the city of Portland, Oregon. It encompasses 269.4 acres, and as of the end of 2005, had 126,561 interments.  in Portland.

Jean Bolton

The funeral will be held Oct. 21 for Jean Bash Bolton of Albany, formerly of Cottage Grove, who died Oct. 17 of heart failure. She was 74.

Bolton was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Arcadia, Calif., to Robert and Marie Laird Bash. She married Warren Bolton in Los Angeles on Oct. 4, 1944. He died April 26, 1985.

She moved to Cottage Grove in 1942 and attended Cottage Grove High School Cottage Grove High School is a public high school located in Cottage Grove, Oregon. It has a newer school building, opened in 2003 to replace the old high school building that was built in 1939 and held its first classes in 1940. . She was a homemaker and was employed as a beautician and as a cook. She lived most of her life in Cottage Grove and recently moved to Albany.

Her interests included cooking and gardening, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her mother of Springfield; three sons, Robert of Shady Cove, Phillip of Eagle Point and Michael of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Carroll Sorensen of Albany and Colleen Baxter of Eugene; a sister, Linda Straub of Cottage Grove; 26 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. An infant daughter, Sandra, died Dec. 23, 1953.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Monday's service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove.

Elsie Arney

SPRINGFIELD - Elsie Virginia Davis Arney of Springfield died Oct. 17 of age-related causes. She was 79.

Arney was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Butler, Tenn., to Chester and Nell Fugate Davis. She graduated from high school in Butler.

She married Bruce Arney in Butler on Oct. 31, 1942. He died Aug. 3, 1984.

In 1946, Arney moved from Tennessee to Fall Creek. She later settled in Springfield.

Arney worked 34 years at Eugene Fruit Growers, later called Agripac-Diamond A.

Her interests included crocheting, playing bingo, collecting spoons and making dolls. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Springfield.

Survivors include a son, Dean of Springfield; and three sisters. A daughter, Linda Arney, died in 1950.

No service is planned. Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lois Mickey

Lois L. Mickey of Eugene died Oct. 16 age-related causes. She was 81.

Mickey was born May 28, 1921, in Burley, Idaho, to Asa and Zora Green Newell. She married William Mickey in Asotin, Wash., on Feb. 11, 1948.

She graduated from Orofino High School in Idaho and attended Spokane Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper and executive secretary before becoming a homemaker and mother.

She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She lived in Boise, Hawaii, Eugene, Mapleton, Lebanon and Gresham before returning to Eugene in 1975.

Survivors include her husband and a daughter, Melissa Mickey of Eugene.

A family gathering will be held later. Andreason's Cremation cremation, disposal of a corpse by fire. It is an ancient and widespread practice, second only to burial. George Robinson

George E. Robinson of Eugene died of complications from Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia. . He was 86.

Robinson was born May 11, 1916, in Fort Worth, Texas Fort Worth is the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas, 18th-largest city in the United States[1], and voted one of "America’s Most Livable Communities. , to William and Victoria Moon Robinson. He married his wife, Kathleen, in Salem on Aug. 7, 1942.

He graduated from Enterprise High School in 1934 and from the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  in 1939. He served in the Army and fought with the 75th Artillery in the Battle of the Bulge Battle of the Bulge, popular name in World War II for the German counterattack in the Ardennes, Dec., 1944–Jan., 1945. It is also known as the Battle of the Ardennes. On Dec.  during World War II.

He taught school in Hood River and Corvallis, and he was employed by the state of Oregon. He worked for the Department of the Interior U.S. Geological Survey from 1953 until 1984. He lived in Enterprise, Atherton, Calif., and Arlington, Va., before settling in Eugene in 1984.

His interests included traveling, walking and playing Scrabble. He enjoyed spending summers at Wallowa Lake. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the First Congregational Church First Congregational Church may refer to:

A memorial service will be held later. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Lillian Kaufman

The funeral was held Oct. 16 for Lillian Calvari Kaufman of Eugene, who died Oct. 10 age-related causes. She was 84. Kaufman was born Jan. 2, 1918, in Manchester, England, to Paul and Bessie Broginsky Calvari. She married Norman Kaufman in Los Angeles on July 24, 1937.

She attended college for one year. She worked as an actress with various theater groups across the United States. She lived in Northern California, Los Angeles, Houston and New York City New York City: see New York, city.

Burial was at the Masonic Cemetery in Eugene. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
