Jones was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Scotland, Ark., to James and Mary Egger Berry. She married Marlin Jones in Arkansas on Dec. 21, 1940. He died in 1977. She attended school in Scotland and lived in Mobile, Ala., until 1950, when she moved to Mapleton. She settled in Florence in 1996 and worked in a doctor's office in Mapleton and at U.S. Plywood, Champion International and the A&W in Florence. She enjoyed children and her church. Survivors include six daughters, Evelyn Young and Barbara Beckner, both of Salem, Betty Lowder and Linda Kallas, both of Mapleton, Marilyn Rudisell of Klamath Falls Klamath Falls, city (1990 pop. 17,737), seat of Klamath co., SW Oreg., at the southern tip of Upper Klamath Lake; inc. 1905. Evelyn Screen Evelyn Ellan Screen of Eugene died Aug. 12 of age-related causes. She was 86. Screen was born July 18, 1916, in Hutchinson, Kan., to Ulysses and Ella Sprouse Childs. She married Alfred "Mike" Screen in a bank vault in Little Rock, Ark., on March 15, 1941. He died April 9 of this year. She graduated from high school in Johnson, Kan., and moved to Eugene in 1945. She was a homemaker until graduating from A-Arts Beauty College in Eugene and becoming a beautician at Lou's Beauty Lounge in Eugene. She was a beautician for 14 years and also operated a restaurant in Prescott, Ariz., before returning to Eugene. After retirement, she began travelling with the "Fun in the Sun Tours" motor home caravan. She especially enjoyed traveling to Mexico. She was a gifted painter and enjoyed crocheting, singing, sewing, flowers, reading and cuddling with her Chihuahua "Buddy." Mary Wills-King A celebration of life will be held Aug. 16 for Mary C. Wills-King of Eugene, who died Aug. 12 of age-related causes. She was 79. Wills-King was born May 12, 1923, in Anselmo, Neb., to Alpha and Violet Deal Allbright. After graduating from high school, she attended nursing school. She was a Nebraska state bowling champion in the 1950s. She married Homer Wills in Nebraska on Dec. 26, 1945. He died July 30, 1991. She married Ed King in Eugene. They later divorced. Wills-King moved to the Eugene area in 1960. She worked as a waitress at Hamburger Heaven, The Original Pancake House and Lucky Logger. Her interests included bingo, knitting, cooking, traveling and collecting salt and pepper shakers Salt and pepper shakers are condiment holders used in Western culture that are designed to allow food eaters to distribute edible salt and ground pepper.[1] This is a conjoined term for salt shaker and pepper shaker. . She attended local schools and was a member of the last graduating class of St. Francis High School in Eugene in 1968. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, yard work and playing the Oregon Lottery. She especially enjoyed her pets, Harley and Buddy. Moss was born March 19, 1915, in Drasco, Ark., to Albert and Laura Dill Moss. He married his wife, Dora, in Lebanon on Nov. 27, 1942. He served in the Army in New Guinea and the South Pacific during World War II and was discharged with the rank of sergeant. He lived in Drasco, Coquille co·quille n. A scallop-shaped dish or a scallop shell in which various seafood dishes are browned and served. [French, from Latin conch , Lebanon and Canyonville before settling in the Creswell area 32 years ago. He worked at a plywood mill for 20 years and with the Fish and Wildlife Service for 11 years. He enjoyed fishing and pulling weeds and was a volunteer landscaper at Creswell Elementary School. The school honored his service with an outstanding citizenship award. He was a member of the Creswell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4039. Michael Simpson VENETA - A celebration of life will be held Aug. 15 for Michael Harrison Simpson of Veneta, who died Aug. 9 at age 52. His family chose not to list the cause of death. Simpson was born Jan. 6, 1950, in Chillicothe, Mo., to William and Virginia Simpson. He married his wife, Danielle, in Veneta on Jan. 10, 1998. He graduated from Chillicothe High School and served in the Navy. He moved to the Veneta area seven years ago and worked as mechanic and maintenance engineer at Grandview Rehabilitation and Specialty Care in Junction City. He enjoyed hot rods and fishing. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Virginia Pridemore of Chillicothe; his stepmother, Sharon Simpson of Chillicothe; six daughters, Jenifer Lee of Braymer, Mo., and Chelsea, Samantha, Jenelle, Emily and Michaela, all of Veneta; a son, Christopher of Veneta; two brothers, Scott Simpson and Junior Rounkles, both of Chillicothe; six sisters, Amy, Carmen Carmen throws over lover for another.
