 Media, a Eugene-based outdoor advertising company, has increased its production capabilities by 50 percent with the acquisition of a new, large-format digital printer.

The company, which specializes in billboard and bus advertising, also has formed a new division to focus on its nontransit digital products business.

The demand for such specialty graphics - from advertisements for the backs of motor homes to magazine-quality graphics that wrap around whole buildings - has grown with Obie's ability to produce and install high-quality digital prints.

 company's digital production operation has grown at a rate of 43 percent per year.

The company's new digital printer, its largest, complements the company's two existing printers that sometimes are in operation seven days a week.

The company's stock, which trades publicly on Nasdaq, gained 25 cents to $4.40 a share on Wednesday.
