Additionally, Dr. Wilson noted, "Over the two week period, non-inflammatory lesions also were reduced by 34% using CLENZIderm M.D., compared to only 21% reduction in subjects using the combination BPO and Clindamycin, while achieving comparable inflammatory lesion clearance at 52% versus 50% clearance with the BPO Clindamycin antibiotic."

. The results of our clinical studies with CLENZIderm M.D. allow us to enter the $1.3 billion acne treatment market with a compelling solution that is physician dispensed."

Carlson further noted that Obagi is unique in its ability to provide a physician-dispensed model that gives physicians greater control over the treatment regime. "We believe that once dermatologists and other physicians who are focused on skin health make CLENZIderm M.D. available to their patients, they will see first hand the efficacy that can be achieved without the need for antibiotics."

Both products in the study were well tolerated, and although CLENZIderm users did initially experience more stinging, none of the patients rated it as more than "mild." Obagi's CLENZIderm System is being introduced at the AAD and will be available through dispensing physicians throughout the United States later this month.

Posters will be presented in Hall C at the Washington Convention Center The Washington Convention Center has been the name of two convention centers in Washington, D.C.
