GSA defines "extended stay" as stays of more than 30 days.

GSA award solicitations, which began in 2001, describe the program as follows: "FPLP contracts with multiple properties in high travel destinations to create guaranteed lodging room blocks at guaranteed rates for U.S. Government personnel on official business travel."
