Dorothy C. Baunach is President and Executive Director of NorTech, the Northeast Ohio Technology Coalition. NorTech (www.nortech.org) is an organization of technology leaders from the academic, corporate, early-stage and entrepreneurial sectors working with public and private sector leaders to improve the region's standard of living through innovation, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization. NorTech is an affiliate organization of the Greater Cleveland Greater Cleveland is a nickname for the metropolitan area surrounding Cleveland in Ohio.

Northeast Ohio refers to a similar but substantially larger area as described below.
 Partnership where Dorothy is a member of the senior management team. Greater Cleveland Partnership was formed in 2004 through the merger of Cleveland Tomorrow, the Greater Cleveland Growth Association and the Greater Cleveland Roundtable. Dorothy was previously Deputy Director of Cleveland Tomorrow.

Dorothy was the founding President of the Edison BioTechnology Center and served again as Interim President in 2000 and 2001 to help reshape the organization and lay the groundwork for Omeris and BioEnterprise.

, Dorothy was VP of Enterprise Development, Inc. (now JumpStart). Since 1983, through EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) The electronic communication of business transactions, such as orders, confirmations and invoices, between organizations. Third parties provide EDI services that enable organizations with different equipment to connect. , EBTC and Cleveland Tomorrow, Dorothy has helped the start-up and development of numerous technology-based businesses and technology-based economic development programs throughout Ohio. In 1993, she received Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award for her support of entrepreneurship in northeast Ohio.

A 1970 graduate of Wittenberg University Wittenberg University, located in Springfield, Ohio, is a private, four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The college was founded in 1842 by Ezra Keller in Wooster, Ohio, and moved three years later to its present location.  with a bachelor's degree in biology, Dorothy earned an MS in biology in 1973 from the University of Dayton The University of Dayton is one of the ten largest Catholic schools in the United States and is the largest of the three Marianist universities in the nation.
