OUTFITS MADE PROM NIGHT MAGICAL.Byline: DENNIS McCARTHY Dennis McCarthy may refer to:
The 2005 graduating class at Miller High School in Reseda - all 19 of them - want me to thank some very special people today. By donating those fancy dresses and tuxedos hanging in the closet you never wear anymore, you made prom night last Friday something really magical for these special education students. They're all teenagers with severe enough physical and mental disabilities that they seldom, if ever, have the chance to get out and enjoy a night on the town like students at regular high schools. Seldom get the chance to dress up in fancy clothes and take their dates to a dinner/dance in style. But the graduating class of Miller High did just that Friday night, and it wouldn't have been possible if not for readers who responded to a column about how many of the students at Miller could use a little help to make their prom night special. Most of these young people are from families in which the monthly budget doesn't include room for things like buying prom dresses or even renting tuxedos. They weren't going to go to the prom this year, but you changed all that. ``It was incredible,'' said teacher's aide "Teacher's Aide" is an episode of the television series The New Twilight Zone.
