OUTDOOR EXPO VISITS SOCAL DEMONSTRATIONS HIGHLIGHT SHOW.Byline: Bill Becher Special to the Daily News POMONA - The International Sportsmen's Exposition made its first visit to Southern California on Jan. 10-13 at the Fairplex in Pomona. Visitors were treated to demonstrations of fly-casting, bass fishing, elk calling, sporting-dog training and many other outdoor activities. Exhibitors showed their wares, from taxidermy taxidermy (tăk`sĭdûr'mē), process of skinning, preserving, and mounting vertebrate animals so that they still appear lifelike. to fishing gear to a new jet-prop-powered kayak. The Exposition included an Outdoor Sports Youth Fair sponsored by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. Kids had the opportunity to catch and release trout in an artificial stream that made its debut at the exposition. This was the first stop for the ISE Ise (ē`sā), city (1990 pop. 104,164), Mie prefecture, S Honshu, Japan, on Ise Bay. It is one of the foremost religious centers of Shinto, the site of the shrines of Ise. shows, which visit seven western cities: Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Mateo, Pleasanton, Denver, Phoenix and Salt Lake City. Aaron Anderson, president of PowerKak Inc. in Covina, was showing off his new jet-prop-powered kayaks. A 22cc four-stroke Honda engine runs the jet drive that Anderson has developed and patented.
