OSU tries to keep foe winless.
The Oregon State men's basketball team will end nonleague play at winless Chicago State (0-11) today. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. (PDT) at the Convocation Center in Chicago.
The Beavers (9-2) are off to their best start since the 1997-98 team opened with the same record after 11 contests.
OSU leads the Pac-12 and ranks 11th in the nation in scoring at 82.6 points per game. The Beavers have never led the conference in scoring since team statistics first began in 1959-60.
OSU's best scoring average in a full season was 78.4 points in 1989-90. In head coach Craig Robinson's first three years at OSU, the Beavers averaged 60.8, 60.3 and 69.3 points per game.
NCU men rebound by beating Evergreen
Northwest Christian had four players score in double figures in beating Evergreen State, 96-77, at the Morse Event Center on Tuesday in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball.
The Beacons shot 36-of-72 from the floor en route to their highest output of the season. Jordan Buhler's team-high 22 points led NCU (7-8, 1-3 CCC) and he added nine rebounds and five assists. Freshman Travis Pacos added a career-high 21 points.
Geoducks beat Beacons, 67-62
Evergreen State won its first Cascade Collegiate Conference win this season, keeping Northwest Christian winless in league, in a 67-62 women's basketball win Tuesday at the Morse Event Center.
Guards Katie Collins and Kelsey Atkins each scored 16 points to lead NCU (8-8, 0-4).
OSU reliever Bryant earns all-America
TUCSON, Ariz. - Oregon State right-handed closer Tony Bryant was named to a second preseason all-America honor when he was named to Louisville Slugger's Third Team on Tuesday. The Louisville Slugger preseason all-America team is selected by Collegiate Baseball.
Bryant was also named a preseason all-America first-teamer by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
