OSPREY TAKES TO THE SKIES AGAIN.


On 5 June the MV-22 Osprey osprey (ŏs`prē), common name for a bird of prey related to the hawk and the New World vulture and found near water in most parts of the world.  resumed operational evaluation The test and analysis of a specific end item or system, insofar as practicable under Service operating conditions, in order to determine if quantity production is warranted considering: a. the increase in military effectiveness to be gained; and b.  flights after a standdown prompted by an 8 April mishap (see NANews, May-Jun 00, p. 8). On 17 June the Osprey flew with passengers--including Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James Jones James Jones is the name of:
  • James Jones (author) (1921–1977), novelist
  • James F. Jones, 21st President of Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut
  • James Earl Jones (born 1931), actor
  • Corky James "Jimbo" Jones, one of the main bullies in The Simpsons
, left--for the first time since the crash.
