OSHA and NADONA/LTC partner to promote workplace safety. (NH News Notes).


Ergonomic hazards are the target of a newly created alliance between the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. agency established (1970) in the Dept. of Labor (see Labor, United States Department of) to develop and enforce regulations for the safety and health of workers in businesses that are engaged in interstate  (OSHA OSHA

) and the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (NADONA/ LTC LTC

The two organizations will provide NADONA/LTC NADONA/LTC National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care  members with information to help promote employee health and safety, reaching out to those who may benefit from guidance in the development, implementation, or improvement of facility ergonomics programs. Along with promoting OSHA's ergonomics guidelines for nursing homes (See Nursing Homes/Long Term Care Management, May 2003, p. 8), they will disseminate other information at conferences, events, and through media outlets and will participate in public forums to promote ergonomics programs. Developing training and education programs on ergonomics issues is also on their mutual agenda.
