LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Orion Home Video and Fox Lorber Home Video jointly announced today that they have signed an agreement under which Orion will market all Fox Lorber home video titles in the United States and Canada. Fox Lorber Home Video, which has been in business for more than four years, has more than 70 titles in its home video catalog and is a division of Fox Lorber Associates Inc., a 12-year-old worldwide film and television distribution company.
Herb Dorfman, Orion Home Video senior vice president, said, "Fox Lorber is a home video industry leader in the category of foreign and art films. Orion has extensive experience and expertise in the marketing and distribution of these types of films mainly derived from our Orion Classics titles. We look forward to an extremely mutually profitable joint venture."
Michael Olivieri, executive vice president, Fox Lorber Associates, and general manager, Fox Lorber Video, said, "Orion Home Video is distinguished by its excellent track record in marketing the types of home video titles on which we have established our niche in the industry. Orion Home Video's initial releases for Fox Lorber will be the critically acclaimed titles, "Night and Day" and "Palombella Rossa," in January 1994.
Dorfman added that the Orion Home Video sales and marketing team also will aggressively promote Fox Lorber's existing catalog, including popular titles such as John Woo's "The Killer," "Brother's Keeper," the original "The Vanishing," "Taxing Woman," "Pathfinder," "Man Bites Dog," "In the Realm of the Senses" and "Claire of the Moon."
In addition to its focus on video stores, Orion and Fox Lorber will explore opportunities for new Fox Lorber product in theatrical and other ancillary venues.
