WeCAN is a Web-based integrated solution designed to meet the needs of the U.S. Navy to correlate and link information from different sources. WeCAN significantly enhances situation awareness, velocity and collaboration amongst Navy officials.

VMEP is a low-cost, high-tech solution designed to monitor on-board vibration, rotor track and balance algorithms for Army and National Guard aircraft. The technology is based on advanced signal processing of vibration data using neural networks. VMEP is the first-ever product that combines these advanced technologies in a compact (5 pound) box that significantly reduces vibration problems and maintenance costs.

WeCAN

The WeCAN Development Team, headed by Senior Principal Engineer Jim Onderisin, was established at the request of SPAWAR 051 to correct an ASW information exchange shortfall identified by Commander, Third Fleet during recent operations. The team combined expertise in ASW, network technology, Common Operational Picture (COP), and collaborative planning. The WeCAN Team integrated commercial-off-the-shelf Web browser technology with the improved connectivity available through SIPRNET links to rapidly disseminate relevant ASW information to key players during Joint Training Fleet Exercise (JTFEX) 98-1. The result was not just a Web site, but also a means of providing the right information to the right warfighter. For the first time, WeCAN provided a &uot;one-stop destination&uot; to find critical information for prosecuting threat submarines. The product has niches in a wide range of commercial markets including, information technology and financial services where time sensitive decision making is critical.

VMEP

The Airforce, Army and Navy needed a means of automatically measuring the health of engines, gearboxes and rotor systems in order to predict possible mechanical failures to improve safety and reduce maintenance costs. Using Small Business Innovation Research contracts, ORINCON Corporation developed an automated machine health monitoring and fault prediction technology based on advanced signal processing of vibration data using neural networks. The technique indicates progressive damage in rotating machinery from vibration patterns, and predicts the potential for mechanical failure. The technology has significant military and commercial applications, including helicopters, all types of rotating machinery such as turbine engines, gearboxes and electrical generators.
