LANCASTER - The Antelope Valley High School Band Boosters continue to seek community donations and business sponsors to fund an upcoming trip to Washington, D.C.

About 120 members of the Antelope Valley Brigade band and color guard are hoping to march July 4 in the National Independence Day Parade, band director Joseph Pincetich said.

Boosters need to raise a total of about $80,000 for trip expenses and the organization is trying to raise all the funds needed before May, he said.

The band held a large field tournament in December as one of its primary fund-raisers.

Local businesses or community members are welcome to act as sponsors for the trip, Pincetich said.

Boosters have been busy with a variety of fund-raisers such as candy, cheese and candle sales, among others, he said.

For more information on supporting A.V. High School band efforts, contact Pincetich or Jill Torgerson at the school at (661) 948-8552 Ext. 714.
