solutions that ease acquisition and speed deployment.

"With the Sun CRS program, our joint customers can now get their customized Oracle and Sun infrastructure up and running in less than a day," said Doug Kennedy, vice president, Global Partnerships, Platform Technologies Division, Oracle Corporation. "Our customers receive their integrated systems built to their specifications and simply plug it in and connect it to the existing network, dramatically reducing acquisition and deployment time and allowing them to focus on running their core business almost immediately."

Oracle is a customer of the Sun CRS program, and has already saved enormous amounts of time and costs in the deployment of new software testing Software testing is the process used to measure the quality of developed computer software. Usually, quality is constrained to such topics as correctness, completeness, security, but can also include more technical requirements as described under the ISO standard ISO 9126, such  systems. Rather than having to unbox, rack, cable and test individual components from thousands of boxes, Oracle received 35 ready-to-deploy systems, comprised of 1,050 Netratm X1 servers, which were wheeled into the data center, plugged in, and integrated into their network in under one day.

Customers can choose from a broad spectrum of integration services ranging from basic factory integration to solution design and lifecycle management, while receiving seamlessly integratable systems that are binary compatible (1) Refers to any data, hardware or software structure (data file, machine code, instruction set, etc.) in binary form that is 100% identical to another. See binary compare.  across Sun's product portfolio. As a result, customers with existing Oracle deployments can scale or consolidate their existing Oracle e-business infrastructures with confidence. With integrated systems, customers may see up to 80 percent reduction of early life system issues and can reduce deployment time by over 90 percent in some cases.

Many unexpected delays in deployment are avoided because issues have been resolved before the system reaches their data center. Working together, Oracle and Sun get customers up and running, and focusing on performing their core business, thereby reducing time-to-revenue.

"Our customers have asked for configured, tested and integrated systems that incorporate best-in-class products, and are 'ready-to-deploy' for their IT infrastructures. This enables them to focus on their core business," said Gary Beck Gary Beck (January 21, 1941 in Seattle, Washington) is a two-time World champion drag racing driver. Born and raised in the United States, Beck married a Canadian and they made their home in her native Edmonton, Alberta. , vice president, integrated products group, Sun Microsystems. "Oracle and Sun have partnered to be able to assist customers through the entire IT infrastructure life cycles. This is just another example of how Sun listens to its customers and provides them with simpler, safer and swifter ways to deploy IT solutions in efficient and cost-effective ways to lower TCO (1) (Total Cost of Ownership) The cost of using a computer. It includes the cost of the hardware, software and upgrades as well as the cost of the inhouse staff and/or consultants that provide training and technical support. See ROI. ."
