ORACLE BUILDS INTEGRATED SYSTEMS TO CUSTOMER SPECIFICATIONS.

Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) and Sun Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ:SUNW), a leader in systems and solutions that make the Net work, have launched Oracle9i Database, Oracle9i Application Server, and the Oracle(R) E-Business Suite through the new Sun Customer Ready Systems (Sun CRS) program. Through the Sun CRS program, customers of Sun and Oracle can get a complete Oracle/Sun solution, integrated in Sun factories and built to customers' specifications. No matter how simple or complex a customer's requirements are for their Oracle/Sun solution, the Sun CRS program delivers integrated and configured solutions that ease acquisition and speed deployment.

Oracle is a customer of the Sun CRS program, and has already saved enormous amounts of time and costs in the deployment of new software testing systems. Rather than having to unbox, rack, cable and test individual components from thousands of boxes, Oracle received 35 ready-to-deploy systems, comprised of 1,050 Netratm X1 servers, which were wheeled into the data center, plugged in, and integrated into their network in under one day.

Customers can choose from a broad spectrum of integration services ranging from basic factory integration to solution design and lifecycle management, while receiving seamlessly integratable systems that are binary compatible across Sun's product portfolio. As a result, customers with existing Oracle deployments can scale or consolidate their existing Oracle e-business infrastructures with confidence. With integrated systems, customers may see up to 80 percent reduction of early life system issues and can reduce deployment time by over 90 percent in some cases.

Many unexpected delays in deployment are avoided because issues have been resolved before the system reaches their data center. Working together, Oracle and Sun get customers up and running, and focusing on performing their core business, thereby reducing time-to-revenue.
