OPNET awarded multi-$mil contract by DoD for NETWARS project.

, Inc., a provider of Intelligent Network Management software, recently announced that OPNET Analysis, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary, has been awarded a re-competed contract to enhance the U.S. Department of Defense's Network Warfare Simulation (NETWARS NETWARS Network Warfare Simulation ), a software application for analyzing defense-related network communications.

The terms of the new contract include OPNET software and services to be delivered in phases, with initial funding of $2.2M for 2003, and a four-year extension to be evaluated annually by the Department of Defense. This announcement follows OPNET's delivery of software and services as prime contractor for NETWARS in 2002.
