: OPNT), a leading provider of management software for networks and applications, today announced that OPNET Analysis, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary, has been awarded the second of four possible contract extensions to continue to work on the U.S. Department of Defense's Network Warfare Simulation (NETWARS NETWARS Network Warfare Simulation ) program. NETWARS is a software application for analyzing defense-related network communications.

Today's announcement follows OPNET's successful delivery of software and services as prime contractor for NETWARS in 2004. In 2004, funding included the initial contract extension for $3.5M, followed by $542,428 in follow-on work. Under the second contract extension, additional software and services will be delivered in 2005 with initial funding of $2.5 million. Two additional option years remain on the contract, which the Department of Defense (DoD) evaluates annually for renewal. Since OPNET was awarded the re-competed contract in January 2003, the total funding under the contract, including this award, is $9.7M.
