ONS Connect article expands opportunities for oncology nurse.

ONS President Georgia M. Decker, MS, RN, CS-ANP, AOCN[R], wrote an article about me in the November 2007 issue of ONS Connect (p. 29). First of all, let me say what a pleasure it was to interact with Georgia. She is a credit to our profession, to ONS, and to executives everywhere! Recently while attending the Passing Score Task Force meeting at the ONS National Office, I heard someone call my name. It was Georgia. She welcomed me like she had known me forever. She even went so far as to take me into the board room and introduce me to the ONS Board of Directors. What an honor!

I recently had lunch with the president of Martha Jefferson Hospital (MJH), Jim Haden. I showed him the article, and he was so taken by it that he wanted to keep and share it with other administrators in our organization. The exposure from that little piece is helping me do many positive things at MJH. So, thank you!
