the Huskies' dreams of a berth in the City Section championship game with a 74-45 victory Saturday at L.A. Southwest College.

One year ago, in identical circumstances, fourth-seeded North Hollywood was taken out by the same Dolphins team in a 73-50 final.

``We were hoping to play them one round later,'' Huskies coach Rich Allen said. Instead, the brackets matched up Allen and North Hollywood with a team returning everyone from last season.

``It would have been nice to get to the finals. I think we are the second-best team in the playoffs.''

Palisades is simply a notch above North Hollywood and everyone else in the City Section. The Dolphins (25-4) jumped out quickly, and though the Huskies (22-6) made a valiant VALIANT Valsartan in Acute Myocardial Infarction Trial Cardiology A series of multinational M&M trials to determine the effects of valsartan–Diovan®  effort to stay close into the fourth quarter, a 6-0 spurt spurt Vox populi A surge or abrupt ↑ in the size or speed of a thing. ``They are just better than we are. Palisades has so much talent,'' said Huskies senior Markia Derby, who scored a team-high 15 points.

North Hollywood early, forcing the Huskies to play catch up.

Senior guard Tashean Thomas took the first shot of the game, an airball from 3-point range. The Huskies' first three shots failed to draw iron. Two other early possessions ended in a bad pass turnover and a charging call on Derby.

Getting a quick start was one of the keys for Palisades, which spread the scoring around to seven players during a 35-18 first-half advantage. Nicole Funn-Lockely led all scorers with 21 points, Leilani Estavan added 18 and April Feeney 12.

``It was great to have,'' Palisades coach Kevin Hall said of bolting to an early advantage. ``I think (North Hollywood) was thinking `Oh here we go again. It's Palisades and they are beating us again.' ''

The Huskies made one final surge behind Thomas, one of four senior starters. After a scoreless first half, the 20 points-per-game scorer made three 3-pointers, part of an 11-point second half, and North Hollywood cut the lead to 46-33 with 6:55 left in the game.
