ON THE BORDER MAKES ANNOUNCEMENT
    DALLAS, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- On The Border Cafes, Inc. announced today the signing of a Development and Franchise Agreement with De Nada Restaurants, Inc. to further expand On The Border in the Houston, Texas market.  De Nada currently owns and operates one On The Border restaurant in the Houston area.  Under the terms of the agreement, De Nada will open four additional On The Border restaurants in the Houston market.  The first restaurant under this agreement is scheduled to open in mid-November in Clear Lake near Houston.
    De Nada opened its first Houston On The Border restaurant in October of 1991 by converting an existing restaurant.  Jim Baron, president of De Nada stated, "We are very pleased with our first On The Border restaurant as the sales have substantially exceeded our expectations." Michael F. Fiori, president and CEO of On The Border Cafes, Inc. commented, "Our continuing relationship with De Nada is a great opportunity for both companies.  Jim has demonstrated real success in converting to the On The Border concept and has made a number of valuable contributions to the company.  De Nada also successfully operates Blue Mesa Grill, Caliente Grill and two El Torito restaurants.
    On The Border is a casual, fun, patio cafe featuring mesquite grilled fajitas, margaritas and other specialties of Texas and Mexico. On The Border operates 10 cafes with six in Dallas, three in Houston and one in Austin.
