ON Semiconductor Expands Clock and Data Management Portfolio with New Devices for High Speed Networking and ATE Applications.Company Maintains Leadership Position in High Performance Logic by Delivering New Products with High Frequency Equalization Functions and Cross Point Switches PHOENIX -- ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN), a global leader in efficient power semiconductors solutions, announced the expansion of its high performance clock and data management portfolio with the introduction of three new devices - the NB7VQ1006M, the NB4L7210 and the NB4N7132 - for high speed networking and ATE applications. These devices maintain the company's leadership position in high performance logic by delivering new high frequency equalization functions and cross point switches. "ON Semiconductor is continuing to expand its leadership in high performance clock and data distribution with the introduction of three ultra low jitter products targeting high speed networking and ATE applications," said Dan Huettl, ON Semiconductor general manager of the Advanced Logic Division. "Next generation systems require improved performance and increased design flexibility at lower voltage levels. We continue to provide customers with improved features at competitive prices that deliver the highest performance and best quality." The NB7VQ1006M is the newest member of ON Semiconductor's GigaComm[TM] family. It is a high performance equalizer that combines signal loss compensation circuitry with an integrated 1:6 Common Mode Logic (CML 1. CML - A query language. ["Towards a Knowledge Description Language", A. Borgida et al, in On Knowledge Base Management Systems, J. Mylopoulos et al eds, Springer 1986]. 2. CML - Concurrent ML. ) output fanout. It is the first of a new cutting-edge 1.8 V family of devices capable of interfacing to the latest 1.8 V FPGAs and ASICs. This device enables equalization across 10 inches of FR4 transmission lines up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) or 7.6 Gigahertz (GHz). The operating temperature range is specified from -40 degrees Celsius (oC) to +85 oC and across voltages from 1.71 V to 2.625 V to support lower voltage 1.8 V and 2.5 V operations. Output-to-output skew is 10 picoseconds (ps), typical with RMS clock jitter of 0.2 ps, typical. The NB4L7210 is a clock or data 2x10 cross point switch which can be used to replace several smaller multiplexers or cross point switches up to 2Ghz. This device offers the flexibility of programming one of the two inputs to be independently routed to each of the 10 differential output pairs. A 10 bit Serial Data Interface (SDI (1) (Serial Digital Interface) A physical interface widely used for transmitting digital video in various formats. For electrical transmission, it uses a high grade of coaxial cable and a single BNC connector with Teflon insulation. ) programs each output multiplex to asynchronously select either input clock, which reduces pin count and allows flexibility of design for system engineers. (KHz) to 20 Megahertz (MHz) is 100 femtoseconds (fs) at 622 MHz, typical. The NB4N7132 is a high performance serial link replicator which enables serial loop replication and serial loopback control commonly required in Fibre Channel, GbE, HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture. Other popular applications include routing between internal and external connectors in Host Bus Adaptors, and hot-pluggable links between redundant switch fabric cards. Additional Features: * T11 Fibre Channel Complaint at 1.0625 Gbps * IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, New York, www.ieee.org) A membership organization that includes engineers, scientists and students in electronics and allied fields. 802.3z Gigabit Ethernet Compliant at 1.25 Gbps * SMPTE-292M Compliant at 1.485 Gbps * Operates from VCC An electronics designation that refers to voltage from a power supply connected to the "collector" terminal of a bipolar transistor.
