GEORGE LOPEZ

George C. Lopez (born April 23, 1961) is an American comedian and actor. He runs and produces his own show called George Lopez.
 is funnier than ``George Lopez,'' a standard-issue sitcom that breaks ground only in demonstrating that a Latino can headline a fairly generic TV series.

The talented comic and L.A. drive-time personality plays a variation on himself, one who works at an airplane manufacturing plant where he has been newly promoted to manage his former co-workers, including his vitriolic mother. His boss tells George to downsize Downsize

Reducing the size of a company by eliminating workers and/or divisions within the company.

There are a fair number of sufficiently amusing one-liners in the show - when George's daughter is discovered to have been skipping swimming classes, he mocks certain immigration immigration, entrance of a person (an alien) into a new country for the purpose of establishing permanent residence. The main problem with ``George Lopez'' is, ethnicity of the performers aside, it's a show we've seen many, many times before. But Damon Wayans' star power has proven enough to transform another generic ABC ABC
 in full American Broadcasting Co.

Major U.S. television network. It began when the expanding national radio network NBC split into the separate Red and Blue networks in 1928.
 sitcom, ``My Wife and Kids,'' into a hit, so perhaps Lopez's likability will work similar magic here.
