The Santa Clarita Watershed Recreation and Conservation Authority approved a contract with the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority to continue its proposed park improvement plan, including adding a portable restroom enclosure, picnic tables, fencing, a kiosk, a large interpretive display, a park entrance and trail signs. About 250 oak trees will be planted in the lower portion of the canyon, and an irrigation irrigation, in agriculture, artificial watering of the land. The most immediate plan is to abandon up to three oil wells within the park to California Department of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources standards.

The agreement ``continues the city's partnership with the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy is an agency of the state of California in the United States founded in 1979 and dedicated to the acquisition of land in the Santa Susana and Santa Monica Mountains and the Simi Hills, north and west of Los Angeles, for preservation as open  in protecting the open-space land in Santa Clarita, and it really does what the authority was set out to do,'' said Rick Gould, vice chairman of the authority and Santa Clarita's parks director.

Also approved as part of the resolution is the completion of a Conceptual Area Protection Plan, or CAPP, to protect the habitat across the Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California.
