OHIO NATIONAL EXTENDS RELIEF TO FLOOD VICTIMS

CINCINNATI, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Ohio National is granting premium payment extensions and other considerations to policyowners in areas affected by the great flood of 1993 along the Mississippi River and its tributaries.
Policyowners enduring financial hardship as a result of being displaced from their homes or forced into temporary unemployment by flood waters will receive, upon request, a 60-day extension to pay premiums which are due and execute other policy transactions, such as claim filing and documentation.
The extension period will end Sept. 30 unless a longer period is deemed reasonable by the company due to a policyowner's continued displacement from his or her residence or unemployment due to the flood.
"Ohio National has a large number of policyholders in the flood- affected areas, and we want to do all we can to afford our clients some measure of relief and assist them in returning to normalcy," said Bradley L. Warnemunde, chairman and chief executive officer.
All Ohio National agents in flood-affected areas have been notified regarding the extension period.
Ohio National, founded in 1909, has more than $18 billion of life insurance in force and nearly $4 billion of consolidated assets. The company has a portfolio of insurance products and securities, including individual and group life insurance, disability insurance, annuities and mutual funds. Ohio National is rated "A-plus Superior" by A.M. Best and "AA" by Duff & Phelps and Standard & Poor's.
