Since at least the 1980s business and civic leaders have tried to attract a four-year university to the Antelope Valley, and now both CSU Bakersfield and CSU Fresno offer upper-division and graduate level courses locally.

The Board of Trade is seeking community sponsors to support the dialogue and demonstrate broad community commitment to higher education in the valley. Sponsors will be recognized in the program and at the event.

After the morning sessions, participants will select from one of four breakout strategy sessions to discuss issues of concern such as work force development, land and funding, and boundaries.

These issues will then be part of the next phase of the planning process for higher education and a master plan for a four-year institution.

Tickets are $20 if purchased by May 15 or $25 at the door. Included are a continental breakfast and lunch. For reservations call (661) 942-9581.
