OFFBEAT : BASEBALL TEAM DRAGS OUT NEW PROMOTION.

The Palm Springs Suns minor-league baseball team had to cancel a recent ``Nude Night'' promotion - the team was to provide a clothing-optional tent for fans in right field - when the response was overwhelming and security became an issue once the news got out nationwide.

What a drag.

Which brings us to the team's next idea: ``Drag Queen drag queen Female impersonator, gynemimetic Sexology A ♂ with ♀ affect–often 'overplayed'; a ♂ homosexual and ♀ wannabe, with ♂ genitalia; DQs may take hormones to ↑ breasts, and thus are hormonally, but not surgically  of the Desert Night.''

Scheduled for Aug. 9, it's billed this time as a fund-raiser. The Desert Sun newspaper reported Sunday that the existence of such a group could not be confirmed.

``It's just a promotion,'' said Masters. ``There are a lot of gay people in town that will come out to support the team. The Suns get more people to the game and the gay people get to support a charity and have fun.''

The night's events will include a drag-queen parade and the crowning of a ``Priscilla, Queen of the Desert Suns,'' a take-off of a movie called ``Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.''

Promotion continued: Daryl James, who owns the Aruba Resort Apartments in Palm Springs, told the Desert Sun that the event shows how Suns management is uninformed about the gay community.

``This is typical of the stereotype that's imposed upon the gay community in general,'' said James. ``Drag queens This is a list of drag queens and female impersonators. Only those subjects who are notable enough for Wikipedia articles should be included here.

Final add Drag Queen: Kitty Cole Bang is Palm Spring's most famous drag queen. He told the Desert Sun he'd consider attending the Suns' game.

``I've started a trend,'' Bang said.
