OCS AWARDS TWO-YEAR COMMUNICATIONS CONTRACT TO AT&T

PITTSBURGH, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- One Call Systems, Inc. (OCS) has selected AT&T (NYSE: T) to provide its inbound and outbound telecommunications network services for the next two years.
The $480,000 agreement for AT&T's UniPlan (SM) Service consolidates all OCS network services with AT&T, including some that were previously provided by another long distance company.
The core business of OCS is a critical application of 800 Service, voice and data lines. Using 800 numbers, contractors in five states/municipalities, including Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio and the city of New York, notify OCS of their intentions to dig in a vicinity. Within minutes of receiving the notification, OCS delivers these messages nationwide to the member utilities that have underground facilities in the area involved.
"In our business, we rely on our communications network to prevent property damage, disruption, and loss of life," said Deborah L. DeFazio, vice president-Finance and Operations at OCS. "AT&T has demonstrated its network service quality and reliability in the past," she said. "That track record, plus its commitment to helping us grow our business for the future, has made AT&T the right choice for OCS."
In addition to its utility notification business, Pittsburgh-based OCS is expanding its call center operations to include inbound and outbound telemarketing applications.
Stan Hays, AT&T's Pittsburgh area sales director, said of the agreement, "We are delighted that OCS chose AT&T to handle its crucial network services needs. Our account team was able to tailor a communications package that not only met OCS' requirements, but also provided the greatest value for their communications dollars."
