He was born June 2, 1954, in Eugene to William and Vivian Davis Morris. He attended college and worked as a cook and baker. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Reeves of Salt Lake City; a son, Anthony Dobson of the Eugene-Springfield area; and his life partner of 11 years, Susan Best.
