OBITUARY MICHAEL ATWOOD MEMORIAL SERVICE.

SAUGUS - A memorial service will be held today for Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County sheriff's Deputy Michael Atwood, who died Sunday of a heart attack. He was 52.

Atwood worked at the North Facility, a jail at the Peter J. Pitchess Detention Center A detention center or a detention centre is any location used for detention. Specifically, it can mean:
  • A prison
  • A structure for immigration detention
  • An internment camp or concentration camp
 where he was known among colleagues as one who really cared for his charges, said his brother, Bill Atwood.

A full color guard from the Sheriff's Department will participate in today's 11:30 a.m. ceremony at Forest Lawn Forest Lawn is the name of a number of different places:

In his free time, Atwood enjoyed remote control gliders and was ``extremely dedicated'' to his two daughters, now grown, but who played softball in high school under his guidance, his brother said.

Atwood, who grew up in La Crescenta, is survived by wife, Kerri, and their daughters, Stacy and Corrie, as well as his mother, Sue Atwood, his sister, Kim Skinner, and his brothers, Bill and Rick.
