Betty Popoff

SPRINGFIELD - A private service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Springfield Kingdom Hall for Betty Ruth Popoff of Springfield, who died Oct. 15 at age 74. The family chose not to list a cause of death.

She was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Winsen, La., to Ernest and Rosalie Ivy Wallace Ivy Lilian Wallace (October 7, 1915 - March 13, 2006) was a British artist, actress and authoress, best known for writing the Pookie series of illustrated children's stories. She was born in Grimsby. . She married Fred Popoff on Nov. 14, 1953, in Albany. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Renee Manford of Springfield and Barbara Moore Barbara Moore may refer to:
  • Barbara Moore (Ambassador), a United States ambassador to Nicaragua.
  • Barbara Moore (Playboy Playmate), Playboy magazine's Playmate for December 1992.
 of Albany; a son, Scott of Springfield; a brother, Bob Wallace Bob Wallace (May 29, 1949 - September 20, 2002), was the ninth Microsoft employee, inventor of the term shareware, creator of the word processing program PC-Write, founder of the software company Quicksoft and an "online drug guru" who devoted much time and money into the research  of Montana; three sisters, Dee Bales of Corvallis, Margie Stuffs of Louisiana CODE, OF LOUISIANA. In 1822, Peter Derbigny, Edward Livingston, and Moreau Lislet, were selected by the legislature to revise and amend the civil code, and to add to it such laws still in force as were not included therein.  and Dolly Belcher of Eugene; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Edwin Strother

He was born March 25, 1929, in Little Rock, Ark., to Edwin and Sara Close Strother. He married Landra Boling on June 8, 1956, in McMinnville.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Linfield College in McMinnville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation.  in 1950-56. He was the owner of Neuman Supply (Wholesale Building Supplies) in Eugene for 14 years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Laurie Strother of Eugene and Megan Strother- Garriott of Springfield; a sister, Nancy Bauer of Issaquah, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Robert Franks

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Landsby Place Clubhouse for Robert "Bob" Franks of Eugene, who died Oct. 15 of liver failure liver failure Clinical medicine Liver insufficiency that results in death, requires a liver transplant, or is characterized by recovery after encephalopathy, or while awaiting a transplant; also defined as a condition with ≥ 3 of following: albumin < 3.  at age 53. He was born Aug. 27, 1956, in Washington to Dean and Fran Hogeland Franks. He married Alice Solaas on March 2, 1991, in Eugene.

He graduated from high school in Vina, Calif. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1976.

He worked for Georgia-Pacific Corp. and as a Register-Guard delivery person, and operated hotels.

Survivors include his wife; his mother; two daughters, Jennel Patterson of Hillsboro and Jessica Dooley of Denver; two sons, James Dooley and Jared Dooley, both of Denver; four brothers, Dennis Franks, Ed Wiggins, Dale Franks and Jake Roleder; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
