Victoria Barr-Fairbanks

CRESWELL - A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 8, at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield for Victoria Barr-Fairbanks of Creswell, who died Aug. 6 of cardiac arrest. She was 48.

She was born July 26, 1960, in Eugene to Duane and Lenore Holstein Burr.

She was a homemaker and worked as a caregiver.

Survivors include her domestic partner, Tony Fairbanks; her parents; and three sisters, Hydee Oehler of Springfield, Beckee Toy of Drain and Joelle Dinubilo of Lewiston, Idaho.

Curtis Boyster

JUNCTION CITY - Curtis Ray Boyster of Junction City died Aug. 4 at age 72. The family chose not to list the cause of death. A private family memorial service is planned.

He was born Nov. 9. 1935, in Checotah, Okla., to Raymond and Opal Parker Boyster. He married Flossie Springman on April 12, 1958, in Las Vegas.

Boyster retired from the Eugene Farmers Co-Op in 1999.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Brenda Sheter of Junction City; a son, Douglas of Junction City; a sister, Kathy Rom of Yukon, Okla.; and two grandchildren. A son, Michael, died in 1960.

Felma Brabham

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at First Christian Church in Eugene for Felma O. Brabham of Eugene. She died Aug. 5 of age-related causes at age 95.

She was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Marcola to Lewis and Lillie Ross Circle. She married Paul Brabham on Oct. 1, 1933, in Florence. He died in 1996.

She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School. She worked as a cook for Edison, London and Silver Lane elementary schools in the Eugene School District.

Survivors include a son, Marvin of Springfield; two daughters, Juanita Syron of Gresham and Dorothy Vangsnes of Eugene; a brother, Ray Circle of Roseburg; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Joan Vangsnes Bishop, died previously.

A private family graveside service will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to the church.

Robert Fitch

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 18, at First Church of the Nazarene in Eugene for Robert Bryce Fitch of Eugene. He died Aug. 4 of age-related causes. He was 81.

He was born June 13, 1927, in Sanders, Idaho, to Edwin and Lois Swift Fitch. He married Lucille Palmquist in 1953; he and Barbara Havens were married in 1976.

Fitch served in the Navy from 1946 to 1948. He worked as a salesman for Echo Spring Dairy, Kendall Ford and United Chrome Products.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Purdy and Carrie Humphries, both of Seattle; a son, Brian of Florence; two stepsons, Bob Havens of Longview, Wash., and Bill Havens of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Kathy Havens of Independence; a brother, Derald of Bonney Lake, Wash.; two sisters, Wilma Whiton of Kelso, Wash., and Sandra Bickar of Toledo, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Danny Glass

Danny Dale Glass of Eugene died Aug. 5 of pneumonia at age 61. A memorial service will be held later.

He was born Feb. 16, 1947, in Redmond to Foster and Opal Sturgeon Glass. He married Tina Schoorl on Aug. 31, 1998, in Eugene.

Glass attended Willamette High School. He served in the Army from 1964 to 1966. He was a retired warehouseman.

Survivors include his wife; his mother; four sons, Van of Costa Rica, Michael of Veneta, Aaron of Portland and Geraldo of Texas; three daughters, Leah Burbidge of Utah, Lisa Cooper of Salem and Erika Reyes of McMinnville; three brothers, Foster of Bend and Greg and David, both of Springfield; three sisters, Sherrill Mickelson of Boise, Gail Becraft of Cheshire and Mary Glass of Springfield; and 12 grandchildren.

Loy Moss

SPRINGFIELD - Loy A. Moss of Springfield, formerly of Coburg, died Aug. 5 of Parkinson's disease. He was 81. A private graveside service will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens.

He was born July 12, 1927, in Drasco, Ark., to T.J. and Isabel Clayton Moss. He married Donna Crownover on July 15, 1947, in Coburg.

Moss graduated from Coburg High School in 1947. He served in the Army 82nd Airborne Division in Frankfurt, Germany, during the Occupation following World War II. He worked as a turbine operator and shift supervisor for Weyerhaeuser for 35 years. He raised cattle and was a commercial hay baler.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jacqueline Murdoch of Portland; a son, Steve of Springfield; two sisters, Dorthy Keys and Callie McCaslin, both of Harrison, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

"Jean" Savage

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2423 Seventh St., Springfield, for Marvel "Jean" Savage of Eugene. She died Aug. 5 of age-related causes. She was 97.

She was born July 28, 1911, in Vancouver, B.C., to Leslie and Katherine Warren.

Savage had worked as a dancer in Hollywood, a professional baseball player and a private detective. She had owned a gym, a laundromat and a catering service.

Survivors include two sisters, Norma Lenhardt and Nina Schaeffer, both of California; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Dennis, died in 2002.

Marylyn Simpson

OAKRIDGE - Marylyn Joyce Simpson of Oakridge died July 20 of cancer. She was 67. No service is planned.

She was born Feb. 26, 1941, in South Bend, Wash., to Elwyn and Violet Clark Withers. She married Gordon Simpson on July 2, 1994, in Reno, Nev.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, LeeAnn Huggins of Idaho; a son, Bill Scott of Idaho; a sister, JoAnn Krump of Reedsport; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her first husband, Willie, died previously.

Hazel Spencer

FLORENCE - A memorial open house will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 16 at 05498 Friendly Acres Road in Florence for Hazel Ellen Spencer of Florence. She died Aug. 2 of complications following a stroke. She was 83.

She was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Brownsville to Earl and Florence Kettlewell Hults. She married Donald Spencer on Nov. 1, 1942, in Helena, Mont.

She worked as a park ranger.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Donnie of McMinnville and Robert of Florence; a brother, Willis Hults of Stayton; a sister, Doris Alvord of McMinnville; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Rory Stovall

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 16 at Island Park in Springfield for Rory James "R.J." "Bub" Stovall of Springfield. He died Aug. 6 at age 43. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

Stovall was born Oct. 18, 1964, in Roseburg to Van and Gladys Williams Stovall.

He graduated from Springfield High School in 1982.

Survivors include two daughters, Caline Schaeffer of Eugene and Brandy Stovall of Texas; a son, Robert of Springfield; a sister, Laurie Russell of San Diego; and one grandchild.
