OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-GuardMiles Hartwell A memorial and luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Springfield Moose Lodge for Miles M. Hartwell of Salem, formerly of Springfield, who died March 27 of age-related causes. He was 87. He was born Dec. 20, 1921, in Eugene, to Charles and Irene Patrick Hartwell. He married Marty Evans on Jan. 7, 1945, in Myrtle Point. He graduated high school and served in the Navy. He worked in the lumber industry. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kathy Hartwell of Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. Morris of Junction City, who died May 8 of complications of diabetes. She was 82. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. She was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Shelburn, to Frank and Grace Smith Zavodsky. She married Richard Morris on Jan. 18, 1957, in Reno, Nev. She was a homemaker.
