Gass was born March 27, 1930, in Milwaukie to William and Emelia Schacher Gass. He had worked in a bakery and as a guard, barber and denturist denturist (den´ch n a person other than a dental professional (usually a technician) who engages in the practice of dentistry that is usually limited to making . Survivors include two brothers: Eugene of Lorane and Richard of Eugene; and a sister, Dolores Dolores (or Delores) was a common given name (until the 1960s in the USA); it is cognate with the English word "dolorous" (meaning sorrowful) and equivalent in meaning. She married Henry Osibov on Oct. 26, 1943, in Walla Walla Walla Walla (wŏl`ə wŏl`ə), city (1990 pop. 26,478), seat of Walla Walla co., SE Wash., at the junction of the Walla Walla River and Mill Creek, near the Oregon line; inc. 1862. , Wash. She taught elementary school for 35 years, mainly in Portland and Eugene, but also in Klamath Falls and Hood River. She worked for the Red Cross in Kern, Utah, during World War II. Survivors include three daughters: Jeanette Sullivan of Bend, Seran Mohr of Palo Alto, Calif., and Roxanne Osibov Griffith of Portland; a son, Ron of Veneta; and two grandchildren. Her husband died in 1989 and a son, Gregory, died May 27, 1974. Private burial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Jeannette Alford SPRINGFIELD - Jeannette L. Alford of Springfield died Feb. 20 of age-related causes at age 81. No service is planned. Alford was born Feb. 10, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., to Clarence and Clara Jackson Stinson. She married Kenneth Schiefer in 1945 in Los Angeles; he died in 1966. She married Thomas Alford in 1977 in Las Vegas; he died in 1981. She worked in the aerospace industry as an electrical engineer for Douglas Aircraft and Hughes Aircraft. Survivors include a son, David Schiefer of Los Angeles; a sister, Eva Alexander of Springfield; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A son, George Schiefer, died in 1993. Among her survivors are a daughter, Elizabeth Harvey of Fall Creek, and 15 great-great grandchildren. Her second husband, Odoland Baker, died in 2002.
