Byline: The Register-Guard

Norma Deedon

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Chapel of Memories in Eugene for Norma Deedon of Redding Redding, city (1990 pop. 66,462), seat of Shasta co., N central Calif., on the Sacramento River; inc. 1872. A principal tourist center for a mountain and lake region, it also has lumbering, food-processing, and diverse manufacturing. , Calif., formerly of Eugene, who died Feb. 11 of age-related causes. She was 85.

She was born March 30, 1921, in Eugene to Hans Lauritz and Eudora Olsen. She married Amile Deedon on May 21, 1941, in Eugene. He died on July 28, 2003. She worked for 25 years at the former Chet's Famous Food in Eugene.

Survivors include two sons, Ed of Redding and Les of Fresno, Calif.; three brothers, Darrell Olsen of Elmira, Harold Olsen Harold G. Olsen (May 12, 1895 – October 29, 1953) was a college men's basketball coach. The Rice Lake, Wisconsin native was the head coach of the Ohio State University from 1922 to 1946.  of Eugene and Melvin Olsen of Corvallis; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grand- children.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Sailor Cemetery in Noti. Arrangements by McDonald's Chapel in Redding.

Morven "Mo" Thomas

He was born March 21, 1926, in Portland to Lloyd and Marguerite Robertson Thomas. He married Nancy Carlisle on March 19, 1949, in Eugene. He served in the Army Air Force from April 1943 to November 1945. He was a certified public accountant Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

John Raade

COTTAGE GROVE Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965.  Raade of Cottage Grove, who died Feb. 14 of age-related causes. He was 92.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Feb. 18, at the funeral home.

He was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Quincy to Anders and Sophia Hossa Raade.

He married Naolma Knapp on Oct. 31, 1942, in Heisson, Wash. She died Nov. 14, 1993.

He served in the Coast Guard from 1941 to 1946 and worked as a trim saw operator for Bohemia Lumber until his retirement in 1978.

Survivors include a son, James of Cottage Grove; a daughter, Diane Hicks of Cottage Grove; two brothers, Norman of Portland and William of Clatskanie; a sister, Hazel Brusig of Washington; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son, John, died April 8, 1996.

Burial will be in Sears Cemetery in Cottage Grove.

Dorothy Chaney

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Trinity Baptist Church in Springfield for Dorothy V. Chaney of Springfield, who died Feb. 12 at age 52. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

She was born March 18, 1954, in Boise to Henry and Beverly Walker Andreson.

Survivors include her parents; a daughter, Tanya Campbell; a son, Allen Cooper; two sisters, Roberta Andreson and Beverly Grable; a brother, Edward Barnett; and three grandchildren.

A second service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Springfield Eagles Lodge. Arrangements by Alpha Cremation cremation, disposal of a corpse by fire. It is an ancient and widespread practice, second only to burial. It has been found among the chiefdoms of the Pacific Northwest, among Northern Athapascan bands in Alaska, and among Canadian cultural groups.  Services in Eugene.

Katheryn Hinkley

Katheryn "K" Graham Hinkley of Eugene died Feb. 15 of age-related causes at age 86. No service is planned.

She was born May 27, 1920, in Philadelphia to Harry and Freda Coerber Graham. She married Charles Hinkley in June 1942 in Philadelphia. He died in October 2001. She worked as a bookkeeper and calligrapher cal·lig·ra·phy

Linda Gettman

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at the Chapel of Macy & Son in McMinnville for Linda Kay Gettman of McMinnville, formerly of Eugene, who died Feb. 14 of cancer at age 59.

She was born July 7, 1947, in Goodland, Kan., to Kenneth and Marie Daise Anderson.

She married Steven Gettman on Aug. 9, 1975.

She worked with a cerebral palsy cerebral palsy (sərē`brəl pôl`zē), disability caused by brain damage before or during birth or in the first years, resulting in a loss of voluntary muscular control and coordination.  work- shop.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, of Springfield; three brothers, Michael Anderson of Eugene, Robert Anderson of Veneta and Bill Anderson of Bend; and a sister, Nancy DeGeneault of Eugene.

Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum mausoleum (môsəlē`əm), a sepulchral structure or tomb, especially one of some size and architectural pretension, so called from the sepulcher of that name at Halicarnassus, Asia Minor, erected (c.352 B.C.  in McMinnville.
