Arthur Bartlett

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Molalla Funeral Chapel for Arthur A. Bartlett of Molalla, formerly of Springfield. He died June 10 of cancer at age 78. A graveside grave·side

He was born Oct. 20, 1928, in Fillmore, Calif., to Clarence and Anna Dennison Bartlett. He married Evalee Griesel in 1946 in Springfield.

He was a dairy farmer in Bandon for many years and later owned Mikealos Pizza in Molalla. He served in the National Guard.

Survivors include two daughters, Loya Shinn of Molalla and Deanna Entgelmeier of North Bend North Bend is the name of several places in the United States of America:

  • North Bend, Oregon
  • North Bend, Washington
  • North Bend Rail Trail
  • North Bend State Park
; a son, Blaine of Washington; two brothers, Dick of Prineville and Dean of Roseburg; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His wife died in 2004 and a son, Terry, died in 1970.

Eleanor Berryhill

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. July 8 at the Campbell Senior Center in Eugene for Eleanor Berryhill of Eugene. She died June 5 of renal failure renal failure

She was born Aug. 4, 1917, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Ara and Bertha Keeley Bowman. She married M. Boyd Berryhill on April 24, 1943, in Iowa City, Iowa Iowa City is a city in Johnson County, Iowa, United States. It is the principal city of the Iowa City, Iowa Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses Johnson and Washington counties. .

She graduated from the State University of Iowa Not to be confused with Iowa State University.
The first faculty offered instruction at the University in March 1855 to students in the Old Mechanics Building, situated where Seashore Hall is now. In September 1855, the student body numbered 124, of which, 41 were women.

Her husband died Feb. 24, 1992; and two daughters, Doris Berryhill and an infant daughter, died previously.

Robert Campbell

Robert James Campbell of Eugene died June 2 of complications of surgery at age 82.

He was born July 4, 1924, in Wallace, Idaho to Roy and Lucy Godwin Campbell. He married Joyce Davidson on Aug. 7, 1947, in Carson City, Nev.

Campbell served in the Marine Corps in World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janet Hix of Redmond; a son, Scott of Salem; two brothers, Roy of Redmond and Alva of Bend; five grandchildren and 12 great-grand-children. A son, Richard, died previously.

A memorial service will be later. Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery Willamette National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery in Clackamas County, Oregon, about 10 miles southeast of the city of Portland, Oregon. Ruby Gant

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, at Eugene Bible College for Ruby Ann Gant of Eugene, who died June 11 of cancer at age 81.

She was born Aug. 30, 1925, in New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
. She married Al Gant on April 21, 1950.

She was a high school graduate and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Gail Smith and Debrah Veronese, both of Bend; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grand- children.

Inurnment will be in Tahoma National Cemetery Tahoma National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery in the city of Kent, in King County, Washington. It encompasses 158.3 acres, and as of the end of 2005, had 15,924 interments. It is the only National Cemetery in Washington state.  in Kent, Wash. Charles Gibler

Charles Edward Gibler of Eugene died June 11 of age-related causes at age 96. No service is planned.

He was born Aug. 3, 1910, in Pomona, Calif., to William and Pearl Keene Gibler. He married Virginia French on Sept. 30, 1934, in Pomona.

Gibler was a retired pharmacist.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna Carter of Eugene; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. His wife died in 1998.

Elmer Loesch

FLORENCE - A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Our Lady of the Dunes Catholic Church in Florence for Elmer Loesch of Florence, formerly of Eugene. He died June 6 of heart-related causes at age 90.

He was born May 1, 1917, in Luxemburg Township, Minnesota Luxemburg Township is a township in Stearns County, Minnesota, United States. It is the proper name of Township 122 North Range 30 West, and is located approximately 15 Km (10 mi) SW of Saint Cloud, the county seat. , to William and Catherine Rausch Loesch. He married Monica Wenzel in 1949.

Loesch served in the Army in World War II. He was a foreman for International Paper Plywood Plant until his retirement in 1974.

Survivors include his life partner, Pat Mahoney; three children, Wayne of Eugene, Bob of Rosalia, Wash., and Connie of Portland; four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. His wife died previously.

Beverly Loseth

A memorial Mass will be at 12:15 p.m. Friday, June 15, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene for Beverly L. Loseth of Eugene. She died June 10 of congestive heart failure congestive heart failure, inability of the heart to expel sufficient blood to keep pace with the metabolic demands of the body. In the healthy individual the heart can tolerate large increases of workload for a considerable length of time.  at age 74.

She was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Klamath Falls to William and Inez Yeamans Jones. She married Howard Loseth on June 16, 1962, in Eugene.

She graduated from Southern Oregon University Bachelors and master's programs are offered through the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, and School of Education. History
SOU began as Ashland Academy in 1869 in Ashland by the Methodists.
 in Ashland and worked as a grade school teacher in Eugene schools for more than 40 years.

She is survived by her husband.

Ellis Richard Sr.

Ellis Edward Richard Sr. of Eugene died June 9 of age-related causes at age 91. A private family service is planned.

He was born Dec. 12, 1915, in Alamo Alamo

, Nev., to Lawrence and Hazel Nebeker Richard. He married Marie Wyan. She later died. He married Robin Caldwell on June 4, 1978, in San Francisco. She died April 19, 2004.

Richard graduated from Chico High School in California. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a pilot in B-17 aircraft from 1943 to 1945. He worked for Union Oil Company of California for 34 years.

Survivors include two sons, Denny of Eugene and Ellis of Moose, Wyo.; a stepson step·son

Bertha Roscher

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Awbrey Park Elementary School in Eugene for Bertha M. Roscher of Eugene, who died June 10 of age-related causes. She was 90.

She was born June 11, 1916, in Okanogan, Wash., to John and Minnie Fox Cates n. pl. 1. Provisions; food; viands; especially, luxurious food; delicacies; dainties.

She worked as a nurses' aide at Sacred Heart General Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Riley of Tacoma and Juanita Claypool of Eugene; a sister, Mary Burbank of Marcola; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her husband died in July, 1961, and a son, Otto Jr., also died previously.

Philip Runkel

Philip J. Runkel of Eugene died June 7 of lung cancer lung cancer, cancer that originates in the tissues of the lungs. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States in both men and women. Like other cancers, lung cancer occurs after repeated insults to the genetic material of the cell.  at age 89. A memorial service will be later.

He was born June 25, 1917, in La Crosse, Wis., to Kenneth and Bernice Hanan Runkel. He married Margaret Meiler on April 26, 1943, in the Panama Canal Zone Panama Canal Zone, former territory within Panama, 553 sq mi (1,432 sq km), that was administered by the United States under a 1903 treaty (with later amendments) with Panama. The zone included the Panama Canal and an area extending 5 mi (8.1 km) on each side. . She later died. He married Mary Claire Willmott on Jan. 27, 1990, in Eugene.

Runkel worked as a high school teacher in Madison, Wis., in 1940-41. He was an engineering draftsman on the Panama Canal from 1941 to 1951. He received a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Michigan (body, education) University of Michigan - A large cosmopolitan university in the Midwest USA. Over 50000 students are enrolled at the University of Michigan's three campuses. The students come from 50 states and over 100 foreign countries.  in 1956, and worked as a professor of psychology from 1955 to 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Claire.

James Smith

SPRINGFIELD - James V. "Jim" Smith of Springfield died June 9 of complications of surgery at age 67. No service is planned.

He was born Dec. 4, 1939, in Eugene to Vance and Myra Eastman Smith.

Smith worked as a chef. He had served in the Navy.

He is survived by a sister, Patricia Wilcox of Springfield.

Edward Steele Sr.

The funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Eugene for Edward W. "Wes" Steele Sr. of Eugene. He died June 12 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

He was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Belgrade, Neb., to Walter and Alice Jackson Steele. He married Jeanette Schamp on May 25, 1957, in Monroe.

Steele served in the Navy submarine service for 20 years on the Polaris Class nuclear submarines James Madison and Daniel Webster. He worked as a purchasing agent, warehouse manager and forklift salesman.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Denise Tiller of University Place, Wash.; two sons, Ed Jr. of Elmira and Robert of Centralia, Wash.; a sister, Betty McGill of Junction City; six grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

Bernard Zoloth

A celebration of life will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at 2682 Fairgreen Drive in Miami, Fla., for Bernard Lee "Buddy" Zoloth of Eugene. He died June 10 of liver cancer Liver Cancer Definition

Liver cancer is a relatively rare form of cancer but has a high mortality rate. Liver cancers can be classified into two types.
 at age 59.

He was born March 10, 1948, in Philadelphia to Milton and Shirley Malakoff Zoloth. He married Nancy Herbert on June 20, 1999, in Hollywood, Fla.

He graduated from Windsor Mountain High School in 1967 and attended the University of California The University of California has a combined student body of more than 191,000 students, over 1,340,000 living alumni, and a combined systemwide and campus endowment of just over $7.3 billion (8th largest in the United States).  in Los Angeles. He was a manager for various musicians and co-manager of a charter boat for trans-Atlantic travel from the Virgin Islands. He later worked in telecommunications and data networking.
