Byline: The Register-Guard

Virginia Busch

Virginia Armstrong Busch of Eugene died April 22 of age-related causes at age 95. A memorial service will be later.

She was born March 26, 1912, in Cadiz, Ohio, to Wirt and Josephine Ross Armstrong. She married Lloyd Thorpe in June, 1937, in Burlingame, Calif., and he died in 1967. She married Roger Busch in May, 1969, in Carmel, Calif. He died in 1984.

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Busch worked as an elementary school teacher and speech therapist.

Survivors include a daughter, Joanna Hoskins of Eugene; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield. Remembrances to the Oregon Bach Festival or the Heifer Project.

Stella DeLess

A graveside memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene for Stella L. DeLess of Salem, formerly of the Lane County area. She died April 25 of age-related causes at age 77.

She was born Jan. 10,1930, in Bonnerdale, Ark., to Arthur and Loca Lola Freeman. She married Robert DeLess on Feb. 6, 1950, in Eugene.

She was a homemaker and retired in 1986 from food service in the Salem School District.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Richard of Indiana and Mike and Jeff, both of Salem; two daughters, Sandra Morris of Eugene and Teresa Schuh of Hill Force Air Base, Utah; a brother, Roy Freeman of Eugene; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Cherish Ireland

Cherish Dawn Ireland of Eugene died April 26 of pneumonia at age 67. A memorial service and celebration of life will be later.

She was born Sept. 4, 1939, in Boston to Forrest and Caroline Musante Gould. She married Michael Ireland on June 26, 1973, in Portland.

She was an operating room technician and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Nena Hirn of Eugene; a son, William Dunderdale of Kentucky; a brother, Jay Gould of Quincy, Mass.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Betty Jones

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary in Coos Bay for Betty J. Thurman Whitley Jones of Springfield, who died April 25 of age-related causes. She was 76. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born July 18, 1930, in North Bend to Hiram and Hazel Deadmond Thurman.

A graduate of Springfield High School, she received an associate's degree from Southwestern Oregon Community College. She worked as a sales representative for U.S. West for many years.

Survivors include a son, Franklin Whitley of Yoncalla; two daughters, Deborah Larson of Salem and Leslie Smith of Kuwait; two stepsons, Tim Jones and Tom Jones, both of Idaho; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Charles Munro

JUNCTION CITY - A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the Church of God Seventh Day in Harrisburg for Charles B. Munro of Junction City. He died April 25 of a stroke at age 74.

He was born May 7, 1932, in Verdon, Neb., to Horace and Vera Burgett Munro. He married Myrtle Grodi on June 17, 1957, in Michigan.

Munro served in the Navy. A high school graduate, he was a business owner and millwright.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Teri Cox of Kansas City, Kan., Cathy Walcott of Denver, Charlotte Duwelius of Hermiston, Corene Marcum of Springfield and Chris Munro and Charlene Bradly, both of Junction City; two sons, Charles of Junction City and Carry of Hermiston; three sisters, Viola Lester of St. Joseph, Mo., Virginia Garrett of Santee, Calif., and Shirlene Manion of Albany, Mo.; a brother, Keith Siddens of Albany, Mo.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Barbara O'Reilly

DEXTER - A celebration of life will be at 5 p.m. Monday, April 30, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Eugene for Barbara J. O'Reilly of Dexter. She died April 24 of breast cancer at age 58.

O'Reilly was born May 20, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ivan and Irene Handley Sickels. She married Sean O'Reilly on Jan. 17, 1978, in Eugene.

She graduated from high school in Dallas Center, Iowa, and from the University of Dubuque in Iowa.

She worked as a ward clerk in the cardiac unit at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene for 30 years.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Irene Bosman; two sons, Luke of Eugene and Patrick of Dexter; and two siblings, John Friesz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Stephanie DeMarchi of Des Moines.

Elizabeth Rede

Elizabeth N. Rede of the Springfield-Eugene area died April 15 of pneumonia at age 85.

She was born June 12, 1921, in Namur, Belgium, to Emile and Josephine Laviolette Naelten. She married Roberto Rede on Sept. 1, 1945, in Belgium.

She worked in retail sales in Carmel, Calif.

Survivors include four sons, Raoul of Colorado, Bob and Keith, both of Monterey, Calif., and Marc of Pacific Grove, Calif.; four daughters, Yolanda Rede of Portland, Liz Bryant of Springfield, Michele Rede of Calabasas, Calif., and Patricia Crawley of Willitts, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband died Nov. 7, 1992; a daughter, Karen Rubio, and a grandson, Jeremy Ireland, died previously.

Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. A celebration of life will be June 16 at Sunset Center in Carmel, Calif.

Dorothy Worsley

COTTAGE GROVE - Dorothy Irene Worsley of Cottage Grove died April 24 of cancer at age 88. No service is planned.

She was born Sept. 7, 1918, to Orville and Myrtle Gann Lionberger. She married Harold Worsley in January 1958 in Napa, Calif.

She worked in a shipyard in San Pedro, Calif., during World War II. She graduated from high school and attended the Napa College nursing program. She worked as a psychiatric nurse.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Pryor of Cottage Grove; a brother, Fred Lionberger of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Agnes Irvine of Cottage Grove; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband died in May 2002.
