 will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Eugene for Florence Schlachter of Bend, formerly of the Lane County area. She died March 20 of age-related causes at age 79.

She was born May 19, 1927, in Amidon, N.D., to Peter and Minnie Koffler Haag. She married John Schlachter on Jan. 25, 1957, in Vancouver, Wash.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Mike and Mark, both of Redmond; a daughter, Susan Byrne of Bend; a brother, Edward Haag of Eugene; a sister, Delores Foulks of Eugene; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her husband died in 2001.

Shirley Schultz

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial luncheon will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. April 14 in the Gerlinger Alumni Lounge at the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  for Shirley Augusta Schultz of Springfield. She died March 9 of a stroke at age 73.

She was born April 17, 1933, in Portland to Robert and Karla Braune Schultz.

Schultz graduated from Sandy Union High School and the University of Oregon. She worked for Eugene Sand & Gravel and the Crow School District office.

Survivors include six daughters, Molly Surgeon of Springfield, Shelly Quimby of Dayton, Lisa McCart of Lacey, Wash., Teena Canaday of Sherwood, Carol Forsman of Florida and Cherie Griffith of Plainview, Texas Plainview is the county seat of Hale County, Texas, in the United States. He was the head coach of the NFL Europa team the Amsterdam Admirals where he has held that position from 2001 until 2007, when the NFL Europa ceased operations.  of St. Louis; and 19 grandchildren. A son, Greg Canaday, died previously.

Melburn Jaques

REEDSPORT - A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. March 31 at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Melburn Robert Jaques of Reedsport, who died March 20 of heart failure at age 71.

He was born April 12, 1935, in Castle Rock, Wash., to Lawrance and Edna Oswald Jaques.

Jaques had served in the Navy. He worked as a timber worker and logger for many years.

Survivors include his mother, Edna Jaques of Lexington, Ky.; three sons, Melburn "Rusty," David and Eric, all of Springfield; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jake Harper

Jake A. Harper of Eugene died March 19 of age-related causes at age 95.

He was born April 6, 1911, in Murphy to Oscar and Nancy McCabe Harper.

A high school graduate, Harper had worked as a commercial fisherman. He served in the military in World War II.

He is survived by a sister, Eleanor Erb of Eugene.

Norma Heib

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. Heib graduated from Fitch High School in Austintown, Ohio Austintown is an unincorporated census-designated place and Youngstown suburb, in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 31,627 at the 2000 census. The high school serving the area is Austintown-Fitch HS. . She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Deb and Cheri; a son, Rick; a sister, Pat; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Sears Cemetery in Cottage Grove.

Kathryn Martin

SPRINGFIELD - Kathryn A. "Kathy" Martin of Springfield died March 18 of cancer at age 62. No service is planned.

She was born Feb. 9, 1945, in Berwyn, Ill., to Robert and Suzanne Green Martin.

Martin was a touring golf professional with the Ladies Professional Golf Association in the 1970s and 1980s. She was a golf teaching professional for 15 years in Oregon.

Survivors include her mother, Suzanne Martin; two sisters, Judith Martin Judith Martin (born Judith Perlman on September 13 1938), better known by the pen name Miss Manners, is an American journalist, author, and etiquette authority.  of Baltimore and Peggy Martin of Albany; and a brother, Ken Martin of Fall Creek Fall Creek is the name of several places in the United States:

Richard Barnes

Richard Alan Barnes of Prineville, formerly of Junction City and Eugene, died March 14 at age 53. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

He was born Feb. 2, 1954, in Eugene to Clifton and Nola Wood Barnes. He married Chrystal Fellows on Jan. 1, 1976, in Prine- ville.

He worked as a truck driver for Deschutes Ready Mix and for a family business, "From Start to Finish Construction & Cleanup."

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Korrin Van Dewalker of Salem; two sons, Khrys and Kyle, both of Prineville; two sisters, Connie Martin of Noti and Barbara Darrow of Ontario; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held March 21 at Prineville Funeral Home.
