Lola Nugent

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Lakewood Mobile Home Park in Eugene for Lola Mae Beeson Nugent of Eugene, who died Jan. 22 of age-related causes at age 96.

She was born Jan. 22, 1911, in Springfield to Orba and Emma Rowe Sales. She married Lester Beeson in 1944 in Vancouver, Wash., and he died in 1972. She married Charles Nugent in Eugene in 1981. He died in 1985.

She owned beauty shops in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  and Eugene and co-owned beauty colleges in Eugene and Springfield.

She is survived by two nephews.

Leslie Bergman

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Lincoln Memorial Lincoln Memorial, monument, 107 acres (45 hectares), in Potomac Park, Washington, D.C.; built 1914–17. The building, designed by Henry Bacon and styled after a Greek temple, has 36 Doric columns representing the states of the Union at the time of Lincoln's  Park and Funeral Home in Portland for Leslie W. "Bud" Bergman of Canby, formerly of the Eugene area, who died Jan. 21 of heart disease at age 77. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Willamette National Cemetery Willamette National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery in Clackamas County, Oregon, about 10 miles southeast of the city of Portland, Oregon. It encompasses 269.4 acres, and as of the end of 2005, had 126,561 interments. , Portland, followed by a reception at the funeral home.

Bergman was born June 5, 1929, in Eugene. He married Bonnie Jensen on June 18, 1955. She died in February 1989. He married Lucille Finley-Graf in January 1990.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1948 to 1957, including service in the battle of Chosin Reservoir The Battle of Chosin Reservoir was a battle in the Korean War, in which 30,000 United Nations troops (nicknamed the "Frozen Chosin" or "The Chosin Few") under the command of American General Douglas MacArthur faced approximately 60,000 Chinese volunteers.  in the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation. . He served as fire chief of Lane Rural Fire District and as a battalion chief in the Eugene Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joan Kiefer; five sons, Mike Bergman, Mitch Bergman, Matt Bergman, Michael Rowland Michael Rowland (September 12, 1963 – February 9, 2004) was an American jockey. He was born in Saratoga Springs, New York.

He died from head injuries at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio suffered during a race on February 4 at Turfway Park when his mount broke
 and Monte Rowland; a sister, Betty Jackson of Crow; and 12 grandchildren.

Robert Mulvey

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene for Robert Mulvey of Eugene, who died Jan. 23 of cancer at age 51.

He was born Dec. 2, 1955, in Eugene to Francis and Patricia Lasater Mulvey. He and his wife, Dilya, were married on July 21, 2004, in Lane County.

Mulvey worked as an electronics technician The United States Navy occupational rating of Electronics Technician (abbreviated as ET) is a designation given by the Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS) to enlisted members who satisfactorily complete initial Electronics Technician "A" school training.  for the U.S. Postal Service The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) processes and delivers mail to individuals and businesses within the United States. The service seeks to improve its performance through the development of efficient mail-handling systems and operates its own planning and engineering programs. . He had served in the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Vlad Boloban of Eugene; three sisters, Rose Liening and Pat Hopkins, both of Eugene and Norma Cameron of Nehalem; and two brothers, Michael of Rockaway and Christopher of Maple Valley Maple Valley may refer to:

Charles Hottenstein

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield for Charles James Hottenstein of Eugene, who died Jan. 8 of age-related causes at age 84. Following the service, a reception will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church in Springfield.

He was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Kiefer, Okla., to Charles and Thelma Smith Hottenstein. He married Lois Kyle. She died in 1992.

Hottenstein worked in the Merchant Marine service and for the U.S. Postal Service.

Survivors include a daughter, Charleen Spurlin of Albany; a son, Pat of Eugene; a brother, Merle merle

a pattern of coat color pigmentation with dark, irregular blotches on a lighter background. Seen in some Collies and Welsh corgis. In shorthaired dogs, e.g. Great Danes and Dachshunds, the similar pattern is called dapple.

Private burial will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in Eugene.

Virginia Northey

PLEASANT HILL - Virginia Ann Northey of Pleasant Hill died Dec. 24 of Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia.  at age 60.

She was born June 2, 1946, in Oregon to Earl and Kathleen Walton. She married Stephen Northey on Oct. 24, 1964. He died April 13, 2005.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her mother; three daughters, Rita Rager and Heather Guiley, both of Rainier, and Renae Townley of Dexter; and nine grandchildren.

A private service and inurnment will be held later. Arrangements by Columbia Funeral Service in Longview, Wash.

John Veges Jr.

John Veges Jr. of Cottage Grove died Dec. 25 of cancer at age 77.

He was born Dec. 1, 1929, in Bairdford, Pa., to John and Annie Chupak Veges Sr. He married Gwendolyn "Gwen" Postrech on Feb. 5, 1955, in Dorseyville, Pa.

Veges served in the Army. He worked as a commercial electrician, estimator and planner, retiring from the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro [Marine Corps Air Station El Toro] (IATA: NZJ, ICAO: KNZJ, FAA LID: NZJ) was a United States Marine Corps Air Station located near Irvine, California, at .  in California.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vicki Meray of Cottage Grove and Valerie Chisholm of Orange, Calif.; two sisters, Ann Castellani of Weedville, Pa., and Olga Gumbert of Indianola, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

A private service was held. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Remembrances to the American Cancer Society American Cancer Society,

Marian Stevens

SPRINGFIELD - Marian Louise Mescal Stevens of Springfield died Jan. 21 of age-related causes. She was 92.

She was born Aug. 23, 1914, in Norwalk, Iowa. She married George Stevens.

Survivors include her husband and three children.

A service will be held later. Arrangements by Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield.

Isabel Soares

ELMIRA - Isabel Viola Soares of Elmira died Jan. 23 of age-related causes. She was 86.

She was born April 13, 1920, in Warm Springs, Calif., to Frank and Emma Duarte Ferea. She married Anthony Soares in May 1956. He died Aug. 1, 1991.

She worked as a machine operator for Leslie Salt Co. in Newark, Calif., for 35 years until her retirement.

Survivors include a son, Anthony of Elmira; a sister, Emily Duarte of Newman, Calif.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Holy Sepulchre Cemetery is the name of several different cemeteries. Margaret Malgren

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Rose Hills Funeral Home in Whittier, Calif., for Margaret D. Malgren of Eugene. She died Jan. 22 of congestive heart failure congestive heart failure, inability of the heart to expel sufficient blood to keep pace with the metabolic demands of the body. In the healthy individual the heart can tolerate large increases of workload for a considerable length of time.  at age 84.

She was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Quinter, Kan., to Anselm and Cecil Reinhardt Fritts. She married William Dishion on Aug. 12, 1944. She married Joseph Malgren on Sept. 8, 1956, in Whittier. Both of her husbands died previously.

She worked as an office manager for various companies in Southern California.

Survivors include four sons, Don Dishion, Tom Dishion, John Dishion and Joe Malgren; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
