OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard Evan Jones Evan E. Jones of Eugene died Dec. 21 of age-related causes. He was 91. He was born Dec. 9, 1915, in Baker City to Ira and Elizabeth Johnston Jones. He married Lois Yockey on Nov. 22, 1947. Jones served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked as a forester with the U.S. Forest Service from 1941 to 1971. Survivors include his wife; a son, Greggery of Redmond; a daughter, Valeri Jones of Eugene; a brother, John of Port Townsend, Wash.; a sister, Betty Jones of Tacoma; and two grandchildren. Carmella Lindbloom REEDSPORT - A private family service is planned for Carmella Frances Lindbloom of Reedsport, who died Dec. 19 of cancer at age 71. She was born Oct. 10, 1935, in Cambridge, Mass., to Anthony and Giconda DePalma Romano. She married William "Bill" Lindbloom on Sept. 10, 1988, in Pleasant Hill. He worked as a cabinet maker in California for many years and worked for the Lane County Maintenance Department for more than 20 years. She was born June 8, 1909, in Mannheim, Ukraine, to Matheus and Euginia Glassner. She married Arthur Korn Arthur Korn (May 20, 1870, Breslau - December 21/22, 1945, Jersey City) was a German born physicist of Jewish ancestry[1] and forerunner of the fax machine[2]. on June 28, 1933, in Zaporozhye, U.S.S.R. He died Dec. 9, 1974. She was a homemaker and taught Russian in night school. Survivors include a son, James of St. Louis; a daughter, Kathryn Tomlin of Eugene; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A family service will be held later in Chicago. She married Robert Johnson on June 26, 1951, in Nampa, Idaho. He died Dec. 2, 2006. She was an administrative assistant at Oregon Department of Revenue. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Brockert of Colorado, and Kris Wall and Sandra Koubele, both of Oregon; a son, Rick Johnson of Washington; a brother, Virtus Young; a sister, Eileen Leland; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
