Othie Dye

DEXTER - A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Jehovah's Witnesses, Christian group originating in the United States at the end of the 19th cent., organized by Charles Taze Russell, whose doctrine centers on the Second Coming of Christ.  in Lowell for Othie I. Dye of Dexter. She died Sept. 15 of bone cancer at age 76.

She was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Louisiana to Bailey and Eva Watts Terral. She married Carl Dye on Dec. 3, 1949, in Louisiana.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Carl A. and Willard, both of Springfield, and Billy of Prineville; two daughters, Brenda Carter and Ginger Carter, both of Lowell; two brothers and two sisters, all of Louisiana CODE, OF LOUISIANA. In 1822, Peter Derbigny, Edward Livingston, and Moreau Lislet, were selected by the legislature to revise and amend the civil code, and to add to it such laws still in force as were not included therein. ; nine grandchildren and six great-grand- children.

Nona Kirkendall

COOS BAY Coos Bay (ks), city (1990 pop. 15,076), Coos co., SW Oreg., a port of entry on Coos Bay; founded 1854 as Marshfield, inc. 1874, renamed 1944.  - A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Creswell Church of Christ for Nona S. Kirkendall of Coos Bay, formerly of Creswell. She died Sept. 16 of age-related causes at age 93.

She was born Aug. 4, 1913, in Woodland, Wash., to Charles and Eola Franklin Gordon. She married Claude Kirkendall.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Lon of North Bend North Bend is the name of several places in the United States of America:
  • North Bend, Nebraska
  • North Bend, Ohio
  • North Bend, Oregon
  • North Bend, Washington
  • North Bend Rail Trail
  • North Bend State Park
 and Terry of Deming, N.M.; five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grand-children. Her husband died previously.

James McConnell James McConnell was one of the first locomotive engineers of the London and North Western Railway (LNWR). He was Locomotive Superintendent of the LNWR's Southern Division at Wolverton railway works from 1847 to 1862 and oversaw the design of the "Bloomer" and "Patent" locomotives.  

James Norman McConnell of Murrieta, Calif., formerly of Eugene, died Aug. 25 of cardiopulmonary cardiopulmonary /car·dio·pul·mo·nary/ (kahr?de-o-pool´mah-nar-e) pertaining to the heart and lungs.

He was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Pasco, Wash., to Harrold and Edyth Kibbe McConnell. He and his wife, Verna, were married Jan. 14, 1960, in Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States. .

McConnell served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. He retired from the California Highway Patrol highway patrol

Steaven Basinger

Steaven Martin Basinger of Eugene died Sept. 12 of heart failure at age 61. No service is planned.

He was born Sept. 5, 1945, in Loma Linda, Calif., to J.D. and Elizabeth Mack Basinger.

Charlie Howes

JUNCTION CITY - A celebration of life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 at Woodland Park Recreation Room, 1699 N. Terry St., Eugene for Charlie "The Knife Man" Howes of Junction City, who died Sept. 13 of cancer. He was 62.

He was born May 20, 1944, in Keizer. He worked as a knife sharpener.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Foppiano of New Jersey; a son, Jason; a stepdaughter, Dawn Gray of Eugene; a stepson step·son

Darlene Hine- Wimber-Hansen

Darlene Hine-Wimber-Hansen of Sherwood, formerly of Eugene, died Sept. 12 of cancer at age 64. No service is planned.

She was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Portland, to Michael and Margaret Steiman Hine. She married Dennis Hansen on Dec. 20, 1991, in Eugene.

She retired from working for Weyerhaeuser Corp. in Springfield.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Laura Schaeffer and Sheri Esser, both of Oregon; two sisters, Rosalie Riverman and Joyce Finch, both of Oregon; a brother, Michael Hine Jr. of Oregon; and two grandchildren.

Eugene Place

COTTAGE GROVE - A memorial gathering will be at noon Saturday, Sept. 30, at Agate Beach, one mile north of Newport, for Eugene F. Place of Cottage Grove. He died Aug. 17 of lung cancer lung cancer, cancer that originates in the tissues of the lungs. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States in both men and women. Like other cancers, lung cancer occurs after repeated insults to the genetic material of the cell.  at age 69.

He was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Denver to Fred and Dorothy Hagedorn Place. He married his second wife, Peggy Ledford on July 4, 1964. They later divorced.

Place had worked as a tree planter, millworker and custodian. He served in the Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Genice Cook of Cottage Grove and Michelle Alaniz-Plantz of Springfield; a son, Michael of Prineville; three sisters, Jo Conner of Dayton, Lois Russell of Beaverton and Doris Potter of Arizona; and four grandchildren. His first wife, Silvia; a son, Robert; and a grandson, Brian Cook, died previously.

Clarification

A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Terpenning Terrace, Eugene, for Carol Lynn Oyler of Eugene, who died Sept. 14 at age 52. Among Oyler's survivors is her mother, Helen Smith of Eugene. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
