Ruth Borgaard

JUNCTION CITY Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley,  - A memorial celebration of life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at First Christian Church First Christian Church can refer to:

 in Junction City for Ruth Ella "Bestamore" Borgaard of Junction City, who died July 30 of age-related causes. She was 94.

She was born Jan. 22, 1912, in Junction City to Rice and Midge midge, name for any of numerous minute, fragile flies in several families. The family Chironomidae consists of about 2,000 species, most of which are widely distributed. The herbivorous larvae are found in all freshwaters; the larvae of some species live in saltwater.  Campbell Hays. She married Elmer Borgaard on March 2, 1940, in Junction City.

She worked at Valley Theater and U.S. Bank, was a bookkeeper for the 76 Union Station, custodian for Junction City High School and receptionist for Dr. William Pollard for 12 years. She also taught folk dancing.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Metts and Linda Russell; a son, Jeff of Junction City; a sister, Janet Treadwell of Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). ; seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.

Maybelle Griesel

SPRINGFIELD - A funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene for Maybelle E. Griesel of Springfield, who died July 31 of age-related causes at age 88. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Hawthorne Memorial Park in Grants Pass.

She was born June 16, 1918, in Morris County, Kansas Morris County (standard abbreviation: MR) is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. As of 2000, the population is 6,104. The largest city and county seat is Council Grove. Geography

She worked for Lockheed Aircraft during World War II and was a bookkeeper in Grants Pass.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Doug of Springfield; a sister, Reatha Shockey of Rialto Rialto, city (1990 pop. 72,388), San Bernardino co., S Calif., a residential suburb of San Bernardino; inc. 1911. The city has greatly expanded as a result of the economic and demographic growth of the southern California area. , Calif.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Robert Broten

Robert Gary "Bob" Broten of Gresham, formerly of Eugene, died July 23 of heart-related causes at age 60. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at his son's home in Eugene.

He was born March 19, 1946, in Seattle to Fred and Leona Howard Broten.

Broten served in the military from 1966 to 1969. He was employed as an optician optician, filler of prescriptions for and dispenser of corrective lenses. An optician may grind lenses as instructed by the prescription of an optometrist (see optometry) or ophthalmologist (see ophthalmology) or transcribe the instructions for laboratory mechanics.  in the eye care industry.

Survivors include a son, Robert of Eugene; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements by Oregon Cremation cremation, disposal of a corpse by fire. It is an ancient and widespread practice, second only to burial. It has been found among the chiefdoms of the Pacific Northwest, among Northern Athapascan bands in Alaska, and among Canadian cultural groups.  Co. in Portland.

Jeanne Olsen

Jeanne Louise Fennell Olsen of Eugene died July 29 of Alzheimer's disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia. . She was 86.

She was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Greenville, S.C., to James and Mazie Arehart Fennell. She married Russell Olsen in 1943 in Kansas City, Mo. She worked as a Realtor for Peninsula Realty in Atherton, Calif., and as a secretary at Parsons Junior High School in Redding Redding, city (1990 pop. 66,462), seat of Shasta co., N central Calif., on the Sacramento River; inc. 1872. A principal tourist center for a mountain and lake region, it also has lumbering, food-processing, and diverse manufacturing. , Calif.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Linda Olsen Fuller of Eugene and Karen Olsen Williams of Bend; and a son, Russell "Rusty" II of Eugene.

A private service is planned. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to the Cascade Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Eugene.

Shirley Rauschert

A funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Pacific Community Church in Bandon for Shirley J. Rauschert of Bandon, previously of Eugene. She died July 30 of injuries suffered in an automobile accident Ask a Lawyer

Ellen Hansen

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 3, at Grace Community Church in Salem for Ellen Hansen of Spring- field, who died July 31 of cancer at age 50.

She was born Dec. 19, 1955, in Portland. She married Scott Hansen.

She had worked as an education director for the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Florence Domaschofsky; two sons, Scott and Kenny; two brothers, Gary Domaschofsky and John Domaschofsky; and two sisters, Linda Dart and Christy Ellis.

Private burial will be in Salt Creek Cemetery in Dallas. Remembrances to the Ellen Hansen Scholarship Fund in care of Bollman Funeral Home, 694 Main St., Dallas, OR 97338.

Robert Ross

 service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Alpine Cemetery in Alpine for former Eugene resident Robert Allen Ross of Albany. He died July 27 of a heart attack at age 50.

He was born Nov. 6, 1955, in Eugene to Roger and Connie King Ross. Ross had served in the Air Force and worked as a carpet installer and cabinet maker.

Survivors include his fiancee, Crystal Phillips; his mother, Connie Ross; a son, Terry of Sherwood; a daughter, Natasha Lacy of Newville, Pa.; a sister, Peggy Lee of Philomath; two brothers, Kenny of Newport and Gordon of Corvallis; and one grandchild.

Arrangements by McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis. Remembrances to Albany Paramedics in care of the funeral home.
