OAKRIDGE - The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 26, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Oakridge for George Daniel George Daniel is the Deputy Commissioner & Chief Operating Officer of the National Lacrosse League. He was appointed to the position effective August 17, 2007. Career  Pokorny of Oakridge. He died June 23 of age-related causes at age 91. Recitation rec·i·ta·tion

Maxine Hays

JUNCTION CITY Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley,  - A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27 at the United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism).  in Junction City for Maxine Hays of Junction City, who died June 22 at age 78. Her family chose not to list the cause of death.

She was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Spokane to Edward and Ollie Ronen Jamieson. She married Kenneth Hays on July 24, 1948, in Spokane. The couple owned Ken Hays Insurance Agency from 1957 to 1990.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Charlotte Jones of Corvallis; two sons, Eric of Missoula, Mont., and Mike of Salem; 10 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Ruth Riggs

Ruth H. Riggs of Eugene died June 22 of age-related causes at age 84. No service is planned.

She was born Nov. 16, 1921, in Brawley, Calif., to Jess and Blanche Lott Campbell. She married Edson Riggs on Sept. 20, 1940, in Yuma, Ariz., and he died in 1972.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Jimmie of Eugene; a sister, Doris Sims of Boise; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Kathryn Ressler

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene for Kathryn "Kay" Ressler of La Mesa, Calif., formerly of Lane County. She died June 21 of age-related causes at age 96.

She was born Sept. 10, 1909, in Arad, Austria-Hungary, to John and Teresa Schlesinger. She married Raymond Ressler in May 1937 in Mount Angel. He died in June 1986.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Dona Vitus of San Diego; two sons, John of Alexandria, Va., and Ray of Eugene; six grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

Dorothy Turnbom

A memorial service was held Saturday for Dorothy Mae Turnbom of Eugene, who died June 22 of emphysema emphysema (ĕmfĭsē`mə), pathological or physiological enlargement or overdistention of the air sacs of the lungs. A major cause of pulmonary insufficiency in chronic cigarette smokers, emphysema is a progressive disease that commonly  at age 72.

She was born June 17, 1934, in Eufaula, Okla., to Tom and Ida Dodd Fraley. She married George Turnbom Sr. on March 15, 1974, in Reno, Nev.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Bridget Goodman of Eugene; a son, Richard Logan of Manteca, Calif.; a brother, Jim Fraley of Bend; four sisters, Ruby Daddato of Fresno, Calif., Sandy Fraley of Junction City, and Joyce Kimball and Phyllis O'Connor, both of Eugene; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Brenda Logan, died previously.
