Samuel Ware

NEWPORT - Samuel Bruce Ware of Newport, formerly of Eugene, died June 15 of cancer at age 79. A service will be held later.

He was born June 5, 1927, in Eugene, to Samuel and Sally Ware. He married Barbara Nelsen in Eugene on Aug. 26, 1949. He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a brakeman brake·man

Survivors include his wife; a son, Bruce of Springfield; a daughter, Sheryl Tuck of Moscow, Idaho Moscow (Pronounced (US) enPR: /mäskō/, IPA: /mɑskoʊ/ ) is the county seat of Latah CountyGR6 in north Idaho, along the Washington/Idaho border. ; and six grandchildren.

Dorothy Behm

BLUE RIVER - The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Dorothy Behm of Blue River. She died June 15 of age-related causes at age 85.

She was born June 27, 1920, to Jack and Ellen Kringle Snyder. She married Fred Behm on May 25, 1941, in Park Falls, Wis. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry of Castle Rock, Wash.; a daughter, Nancy Dean of McKenzie Bridge; a brother, Cecil Snyder of Springfield; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Private burial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Byron Littlefield

 memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene for Byron Edgar Littlefield of Forsyth, Mo., formerly of Eugene, who died May 8 of age-related causes. He was 93.

He was born Feb. 15, 1913, in Brisbane, N.D., to Carl and Beryl Littlefield. He retired as an auditor for the U.S. Postal Service The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) processes and delivers mail to individuals and businesses within the United States. The service seeks to improve its performance through the development of efficient mail-handling systems and operates its own planning and engineering programs.  in Eugene.

Survivors include a son, James of Forsyth; a sister, Barbara Russell of Oregon; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

His wife, Ellanor Littlefield, and a son, Raymond, died previously.

Arrangements by Forsyth Whelchel Chapel in Forsyth and Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene.

Robert Gossett

SPRINGFIELD - Robert W. Gossett of Springfield died June 16 of cancer at age 78. No services are planned.

He was born Dec. 20, 1927, to Alvis and Mary Price Mary Wolfe Price was an American citizen and secretary to journalist Walter Lippmann of the New York Herald. Sometime prior to March of 1941, Mary Price allegedly agreed to furnish Jacob Golos, controller of the secret apparatus of the Communist Party of the USA (CPUSA) on behalf  Gossett in Monroe, La.

He was a painting contractor, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include three daughters, Denise McGowen and Vickie Forman of Monroe, La., and Iona Kline of Springfield; a stepdaughter step·daugh·ter

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield for Robert LeCount of Springfield, who died June 7 of cancer at age 48.

He was born Sept. 17, 1957, to Virgil and Dolly Johnson LeCount. He married Cheryl Clairmont on Oct. 15, 1983, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Coeur d'Alene (IPA: [kɚ də liːn]) is the county seat and largest city of Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. .

LeCount worked as a supervisor in the plywood plant at Rosboro Lumber Company.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Brian of Libby, Mont., and Daniel and Jordan, both of Springfield; two daughters, Erin of Libby and Jade of Springfield; five brothers, Alford and Michael, both of Troy, Mont., Virgene of Spokane, Steven of Columbia Falls Columbia Falls is the name of several places in the United States:

The funeral was held June 14 in Libby, Mont., and burial was at the City of Libby Cemetery.

Clarification

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for Joanna Lou Chappell, 63, of Junction City, who died June 14 of cancer.

Chappell worked as a music teacher and was an artist and former chef. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
