Alta Mary "Penny" Bennett of Eugene died of age-related causes June 2 at age 98. The graveside grave·side

 funeral was held June 7 at Bellfountain Cemetery in Bellfountain.

She was born April 17, 1908, in Monroe to Edward and Mary Larkin Bennett.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and also was a secretary.

She is survived by a brother, Edward Bennett of Eugene.

Joann Quiner

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church for Joanna Jessie Quiner of Eugene, who died June 7 of cancer at age 77. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, June 8, at Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home.

She was born March 9, 1929, in Goshen to Jessie and Ella Svarverud Furrow furrow /fur·row/ (fur´o) a groove or sulcus.

. She married John Quiner II on March 26, 1951, in Eugene.

She had worked as a bank loan officer.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Christie Stearns of Oakland and Vicki Walker Vicki Walker (Born on May 29, 1956 in Monroe, Washington) is a politician from the U.S. state of Oregon and a member of the Democratic Party. She has been elected to political office in both houses of the Oregon Legislature.  of Roseburg; a son, Brian of Beaverton; four sisters, Helen Trupp, June Strand and Jeann Nichols, all of Eugene, and Luetta Miller of Central Point; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Belvin Terry

HARRISBURG - Belvin Eli "Terry" Terry of Harrisburg died of age-related causes June 6 at age 84. No service is planned.

He was born April 23, 1922, in Carlton to Eli and Neta Lewis Terry. He married Velma Revis in 1991.

He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and had worked as a carpenter.

Survivors include a son, Jack; two daughters, Janet Terry and Susan Shacket; and four grandchildren. A son, David, died previously.

Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley, .

A.A. Jim Martin

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene for A.A. Jim Martin of Medford, formerly of Mapleton, Eugene and Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). . He died of age-related causes June 3 at age 98. Following the service, lunch will served at Asbury United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism). .

He was born April 5, 1908, in Battle Creek, Iowa Battle Creek is a city in Ida County, Iowa, United States. The population was 743 at the 2000 census. Geography

, to Virgil and Nellie Morgan Martin. He married Masel Brown on Sept. 1, 1929.

He was a distributor for Sinclair Refining Company, worked for Cabax Lumber Co. and The Register-Guard in Eugene, and was an apartment manager in Cottage Grove.

Survivors include four daughters, Dwan Carter of Bonita Bonita (Spanish and Portuguese for "beautiful") is the name of:
  • Bonita Magazine, an international men's magazine
  • Bonita, California
  • Bonita, Louisiana
 Springs, Fla., Kay Drew of Medford, Masel "Mimi" Meinhardt of Jacksonville and Cheryl Carter of Portland; a son, A. Lynn Martin of Adelaide, Australia; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. His wife and a son, Jerry, died previously.

Robert Gedeon

Robert T. "Bob" Gedeon of Eugene died June 3 at age 79. The family chose not to list the cause of death. No service is planned.

He was born July 5, 1926, in Santa Monica Santa Monica (săn`tə mŏn`ĭkə), city (1990 pop. 86,905), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1886. Tourism and retailing are important, and the city has motion-picture, biotechnology, and software industries. , Calif., to Theodore and Edith Fleming Gedeon. He married Aldine Ward on Oct. 24, 1952, in Tijuana, Mexico.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a merchant seaman A merchant seaman describes someone employed in Merchant shipping.

According to local terminology they may be defined as being employed in:
  • The Merchant Marine - especially United States
  • The Merchant Navy - elsewhere, especially UK and other Commonwealth countries
 and a firefighter, then worked for International Paper in Vaughn. He raised cattle in Crow for more than 40 years.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Paul Ward of Walnut Creek Walnut Creek, residential city (1990 pop. 60,569), Contra Costa co., W Calif., in the San Francisco Bay area; inc. 1914. It is the trade and shipping center of an extensive agricultural area where walnuts are among the major product. , Calif., Stephen Gedeon of Richland, Wash., Richard Gedeon of Crow and James Gedeon of Eugene; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Lola Hicks Hicks   , Edward 1780-1849.

American painter of primitive works, notably The Peaceable Kingdom, of which nearly 100 versions exist.
 

SPRINGFIELD - The graveside funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene for Lola K. Hicks of Springfield, who died of age-related causes June 5 at age 93. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, June 8, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.

She was born Dec. 5, 1912, in Bethlehem, Pa., to Thomas and Marion Hazzard Keiper. She married Bud Hicks.

She worked as a nurses aide.

She is survived by her brother, John Keiper of Junction City.

Her husband died pre- viously.

Clarification

Maria Ball, 41, of Junction City, died May 19. She was born to Charles and Sherry Chalfant Wyer. Among survivors is a sister, Virginia Fordham. A service will be from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, June 8, at Hilyard Community Center in Eugene.
