OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard Mack Cash SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be March 31 for Mack Columbus Cash of Springfield who died March 27 of age-related causes. He was 85. Cash was born Sept. 3, 1917, in Cedar Glades A cedar glade is a habitat type unique to the central eastern United States. Cedar glades occur where limestone bedrock occurs near or at the surface. The glade areas proper have very shallow soil or exposed bedrock in some areas. , Ark., to John Ben and Lottie (Holmes) Cash. He married Ova Lee Yates in Steve, Ark., on Sept. 14, 1941. He worked as a timber faller for Roseborro in 1944 and then transferred to the plywood division in 1960. He retired in 1972. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling, camping and boating. Herman Wendel HARRISBURG - The funeral will be March 31 for Herman Wendel of Harrisburg who died March 27 of age-related causes. He was 88. Wendel was born in Berta, Minn., on Oct. 4, 1914. He married Zella Blain blain n. A skin swelling or sore; a blister; a blotch. on Dec. 23, 1953, in Stevenson, Wash. She died in 1978. He married Linda Bright in 1980 in Brownsville. He graduated from high school in Bertha, Minn. Since 1940 he has lived in Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley, , Brownsville and Harris- burg. He owned his own business in North Dakota North Dakota, state in the N central United States. It is bordered by Minnesota, across the Red River of the North (E), South Dakota (S), Montana (W), and the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba (N). before moving to Oregon. He owned and operated a chicken ranch in Junction City and retired from Southwest Forest Industries in Albany. He was a pilot and flew his own plane. He was an avid hunter and loved to travel. He was president of the Egg Growers Association and was a volunteer firefighter for the Brownsville Fire Department. He attended the Lutheran Church.
