OBITUARIES.Byline: The Register-Guard Murl Kelley SPRINGFIELD - The rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Springfield for Murl F. Kelley of Springfield, who died March 23 of age-related causes. She was 77. Kelley was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Cuero, Texas Cuero is a city in DeWitt County, Texas, United States. The population was 6,571 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of DeWitt CountyGR6. . She was a bookkeeper and worked with several Catholic Community Services. Survivors include two sons: Thomas of Springfield and Theodore of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Faye Capps of Eugene; and one grandson. She was born Dec. 27, 1926, in Allegany, Ore., to Issac and Edith Brown Edith Eileen Brown (27 October, 1896 – 20 January, 1997) was one of the last remaining survivors of the RMS Titanic disaster of 1912. Edith was 15 years old when she boarded the RMS Titanic with her parents, Thomas and Elizabeth (née Ford) Brown, as Second-Class Sawyer. She married Philip Gavick on June 4, 1946, in Spokane, Wash. He died Dec. 29, 1988. Survivors include a son, Philip B. Gavick of Springfield; a brother, Allen Sawyer of Portland; a sister, Hilda Perry of Vancouver, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
