Hazel Wright

VENETA - A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, at 89817 Territorial Road in Elmira for Hazel E. Wright of Veneta. She died Dec. 31 of age-related causes at age 97.

She was born Sept. 23, 1909, in Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley,  to Howard and Emma Clinefelter Spickler.

Wright had owned and operated numerous restaurants and later worked as a housekeeper, retiring when she was 90.

Survivors include two children, Beverly Marshall Beverly Marshall (previously Robinson) was a fictional character in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played first by Lisa Armytage from 1987 until 1989, and by Shaunna O'Grady from 1989 until 1990.  of Elmira and Linda Roe of Eugene; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Private family burial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.

Alma Roser

 service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene for Alma Mae Roser of Eugene, previously of Junction City, who died Dec. 31 of age-related causes. She was 95. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.

She was born Sept. 4, 1911, in Atwood, Kan., to George and Effie Pentico Bosler.

She married Carl Roser on Sept. 3, 1933, in Oberlin, Kan. He died Dec. 7, 1981.

She was co-owner of several local restaurants in the 1970s.

Survivors include three daughters, Kay DeBates, Benita Wiota and Jo Hamilton Jo Hamilton (1827-1904) served as California Attorney General 1867-1871 and again 1875-1880. He also served as Trustee of the State Library, 1874-82. External links

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at the Campbell Senior Center in Eugene for Charles Anderson Charles Anderson may refer to:
  • Charles Anderson (Governor of Ohio) (1814–1895), former Governor of Ohio
  • Charles Anderson (VC), an English Victoria Cross recipient
 Russell of Eugene, who died Dec. 19 at age 68. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

He was born June 21, 1938, in Rawlins, Wyo., to Joseph and Johnnie Arnold Russell.

Russell worked in construction.

Survivors include a son, Cameron of Eugene; a daughter, Dana Clark of Eugene; a brother, Joseph of Alaska; a sister, Julia of California; and four grandchildren.

Reece Wheeler

FLORENCE - Reece Vernon Wheeler of Florence, formerly of Pleasant Hill, died Dec. 25 of heart failure at age 84. The graveside service was held Dec. 29 at Pleasant Hill Pioneer Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Pleasant Hill to Cecil and Hazel Webb Wheeler.

He married Agnes Moon on April 22, 1951. She died in 1984.

Wheeler served in the Army as a military policeman from 1942 to 1946.

Wheeler worked on the family farm in Pleasant Hill, then ran Prairie Bloom Dairy in Junction City. He later owned a rock shop in Florence with his wife.

Survivors include two sons, John of Tacoma and Vernon of Hillsboro; two daughters, Ann Leen of Corvallis and Fern Durbin of Florence; a brother, Verden of Harbor; five sisters, Joyce Hunt of Dexter, Gwen Miller and Glenda Nickson, both of Coos Bay Coos Bay (ks), city (1990 pop. 15,076), Coos co., SW Oreg., a port of entry on Coos Bay; founded 1854 as Marshfield, inc. 1874, renamed 1944. , Carol Blakley of Eugene and Celia Wheeler of Pleasant Hill; and six grandchildren.

David Charpentier

CRESWELL - A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Creswell Presbyterian Church for David Joseph Charpentier of Creswell, who died Dec. 25 at age 62. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

He was born Jan. 26, 1944, in Yakima, Wash., to Gordon and Effie Charpentier.

Charpentier founded A-1 Asphalt Paving in 1978 and operated it until 2004.

Survivors include his mother, Effie Faller of Lewiston, Idaho Lewiston is the county seat of and largest city in Nez Perce County, Idaho, United States. Naoum worked for AT&T in California for 28 years until her retirement in 1982.

Charles Conaway

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene for Charles Dorcey Conaway of Eugene. He died Dec. 29 of heart failure at age 84.

He was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Scio, Ohio, to Raymond and Rosetta Phieffer Conaway.

Conaway married Elta Coultrup on Feb. 12, 1955, in Salome, Ariz.

Conaway served in the Air Force in World War II.

He worked as a sheet metal mechanic for Lear Siegler Electronics.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ken Conaway of San Diego and Jim Robinett of Springfield; a daughter, Janis Jarman of San Diego; two sisters, Marie McMullen of San Bernardino, Calif., and Margaret Brieby of Whittier, Calif.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Kathy Conaway, died in 1958.
