Tomi Coursey

VENETA - A private family service is planned for Tomi Jean Coursey of Veneta, who died Nov. 19 of unknown causes pending test results. She was 48.

She was born Dec. 22, 1957, in Eugene to Larry and Iona Brown Iona Brown OBE (born Elizabeth Iona Brown, 7 January 1941 - 5 June 2004) was a British violinist and conductor. Born in Salisbury, her parents Antony and Fiona were both musicians.  Coursey.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her life partner, Fred Perry Frederick John Perry (May 18, 1909 – February 2, 1995) born in Stockport, Cheshire. was an English tennis player and three-time Wimbledon champion. He was the World No. ; a son, Shilo Chizek of Veneta; a daughter, Raina Basel of Eugene; three sisters, Sherry Helm and Nancy Barnett, both of Seaside and Ronn Coursey of Walker, Wash.; a brother, Kenn of Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). ; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation cremation, disposal of a corpse by fire. It is an ancient and widespread practice, second only to burial. It has been found among the chiefdoms of the Pacific Northwest, among Northern Athapascan bands in Alaska, and among Canadian cultural groups.  & Burial Service The religious service performed at the interment of the dead; a funeral service.

Lois Begley

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 9, at Fairfield Church of the Nazarene Church of the Nazarene (năz'ərēn`), U.S. Protestant denomination established in 1908 through the union of the Church of the Nazarene, based in California; the Association of Pentecostal Churches, a New England group; and the Holiness  in Eugene for Lois I. Begley of Eugene, who died Dec. 4 of age-related causes. She was 80.

She was born July 25, 1926, in Bloomington, Neb., to Frank and Pearl Leigh.

Begley was employed by Western Union in Milwaukee, Wis., for more than 27 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Lara of Cudahy, Wis., and Evagene Lingofelter of Eugene; a son, Christian Sveum of Black River Falls There are several places named River Falls in the United States:

Alice Van Slyke

Alice M. Haas Van Slyke of Yuma, Ariz., formerly of Lane County, died Dec. 4 at age 66. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

She was born Nov. 9, 1940, in Beulah, N.D. She married James Van Slyke on Dec. 2, 2000, in Redmond, Wash.

She was retired from Safeco Insurance Company.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Shane McVay of Coburg, Jedd McVay of Anchorage and Jerry McVay of College Station, Texas College Station is a city in Brazos County, Texas, situated in Central Texas. It is located in the heart of the Brazos Valley. The city is located within the most populated region of Texas, near to three of the 10 largest cities in the United States - Houston, Dallas, and San ; three daughters, Debra Yarkel of Eugene, Natalie Loth of Willow, Ark., and Julie Van Slyke of Bakersfield, Calif.; two brothers, Clayton Haas and Ralph Haas, both of Coburg; two sisters, Sharon Chinn of Redding Redding, city (1990 pop. 66,462), seat of Shasta co., N central Calif., on the Sacramento River; inc. 1872. A principal tourist center for a mountain and lake region, it also has lumbering, food-processing, and diverse manufacturing. , Calif., and Gloria Trent of Salem; and six grandchildren.

No service is planned. Arrangements by Sunset Vista Funeral Home in Yuma.

Dorothy Swan

Dorothy Mary Swan of Eugene died Dec. 7 of heart failure. She was 88.

She was born Nov. 25, 1918, in St. Paul St. Paul

as a missionary he fearlessly confronts the “perils of waters, of robbers, in the city, in the wilderness.” [N.T.: II Cor. 11:26]

, Minn., to Henry and Florence Vasterling Knaffla. She married Stanley Carlson in 1943 in Minneapolis. He died in 1978. She married Wilson Swan in 1969 in Minneapolis. He died in 1991.

She worked as a registered nurse in Minneapolis for 40 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Carlson of Rockwall, Texas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, Steven Carlson, died previously.

No service is planned. Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.

Dorothy Plath

SPRINGFIELD - Dorothy May Plath of Springfield died Dec. 6 of an aneurysm aneurysm (ăn`yrĭzəm), localized dilatation of a blood vessel, particularly an artery, or the heart. . She was 77.

She was born Jan. 28, 1929, in Dent, Minn., to Fred and Marie Molten Tomhave. She married Harold Plath on Aug. 5, 1950, in Fargo, N.D. He died in 1999.

Plath was a bookkeeper, homemaker and mother.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Doran of Springfield.

William Greenfield

William Henry Greenfield of Eugene died Dec. 6 of age-related causes at age 89. No service is planned.

He was born Nov. 5, 1917, in Wray, Colo., to Leo Leo, in astronomy
Leo [Lat.,=the lion], northern constellation lying S of Ursa Major and on the ecliptic (apparent path of the sun through the heavens) between Cancer and Virgo; it is one of the constellations of the zodiac.
 and Goldie Smith Greenfield. He married Martha Meier on April 1, 1939, in Fort Morgan, Colo. She died in 2004.

Greenfield worked as manager of ONC (Open Network Computing) A family of networking products from Sun for implementing distributed computing in a multivendor environment. Includes TCP/IP and OSI protocols, NFS distributed file system, NIS naming service and TI-RPC remote procedure call library.  Freight and was the owner of Colony Market in Roseburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Thelma Montgomery of Eugene and Linda Taulbee of Redmond; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Central Lutheran Church Youth Group.

Clarification

Richard Lee "Dick" Gunn, 60, of Eugene died of cancer on Dec. 3. He was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Los Angeles to Billie and Ruby Ostenberg Gunn. He married Kristin Peetz in 1965 in Lancaster, Calif. They later divorced. He married Beth Abramson in 1972 in Lancaster. They later divorced.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Jr. of Clackamas and Geoff of Astoria; his mother; his life partner of 11 years, Duffy Knaus; two brothers, Don of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Dan of Keizer; and two granddaughters.

No service is planned. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
